About Tower of Kalemonvo
Reinforcements are not coming. Resupply is impossible. Your ascent begins.
Tower of Kalemonvo is a challenging dark fantasy Action RPG - following the slower pace and high tension seen in genre-defining classics like Diablo 1 and Throne of Darkness. Defeat wicked foes, grow stronger, gather whatever loot you can find, and tread lightly - as every encounter could be your last!

- Randomly Generated Dungeon
Rooms, rewards and foes are never the same across two playthroughs. Your path to the top will be yours alone. - Deep Itemization and Mystical Rare Items
Kalemonvo's loot system is about quality over quantity, carrying risks and rewards to continually reshape your build. Find unique pieces that allow for strange new playstyles: like a powerful but ravenous mask that consumes your potions, a pair of versatile shields made for dual-wielding, or a ghostly cape that makes you incorporeal.
- Classless Character Progression
If you have the stats, you can equip any item, cast any spell or perform any combat feat. Play as a max-strength brawler, nimble summoner archer, or fireball throwing hammer-wizard. Adapt and experiment with your build to fit any playstyle you prefer. - Combat Arts and Item Skills
Combat is about more than just hacking and slashing. Each weapon type comes with their own arsenal of distinct skills: from throwing two-handed scythes, launching ricochet arrows, or reflecting projectiles with a shield.
- Limited Resources
The Tower is not for the faint of heart. Potions are scarce, vendors are limited, and there is no town to Portal back to. - A Deadly Climb...
Hellish demons, undead warriors, mysterious cultists and many other malevolent beings will do whatever it takes to halt your advance. Only the most dedicated players will be able to succeed.

For 1 playtrough I would say this is a very nice game, it really gives you those diablo 1 vibes, and it is unique enough in a lot of aspects and has a ton of quality of life upgrades. The graphics are great, the atmosphere is there and the OST kicks ass, it really is great. As much as I would like to leave a positive review I won't, because the game is (at least right now, and for me) just balanced in a way that is not fun at all. So, since there is no town, you can't go back to it to buy POTIONS. Which would not be a problem on it's own, but combined with the fact, that you cannot reset a level with mobs it creates this huge problem where you eventually just run out of potions. It usually goes like this: you dominate a few levels, hoard up a lot of potions, enter a new zone, the difficulty increases significantly, you start using your potions faster than you could replenish them. This was the case on my first playtrough, and I had to play for a few hours with the save -> kill a mob without taking damage -> save -> repeat ->if you get hit you load method. I still beat the game this way, but in NewGame plus this just got a lot worse, I started using the cauldron spells for abo…8 found this helpful
I was very take it or leave it with this experience, despite being the target audience. I've never really considered Diablo 1 to have been surpassed, just done differently. Most games in the genre emulate Diablo 2 or later, which is great, but I have felt pretty starved for good D1 clones, so to encounter Tower of Kalemonvo was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately it doesn't come close to rivalling the quality of D1 and I would argue that D1's best clone probably remains to be Dark Stone (a game which was already a pretty big drop in quality from D1). Further down the totem pole is Tower of Kalemonvo. My biggest gripes with it are that there is no town hub to buy & sell loot - You never leave the dungeon. The game is also audio/visually far less striking than D1 (granted, D1 had a proper studio behind it). It does at least capture some of the dark and serious feel of that game. There are some small QoL features missing, like the ability to add/reduce the transparency of the map and the ability to move where the map sits on the screen. One thing I like about Diablo 1 is that combat is slower and more about positioning. In D1 only a single …3 found this helpful
Generally a fun game, but short of banking on rng or perfecting your save-scumming skills, melee builds are mostly non-viable in my experience. Eventually you'll just run out of potions or be overwhelmed by hordes of enemies that stun-lock you. Magic is your only solution, but due to how stats work, you'll need to focus on casting stats to the exclusion of all else. There is no mixing and matching without gimping your build entirely.
Man this game need controller support
A charming Diablo 1 inspired dungeon crawl that trims the fat. No going to town or selling gear or collecting gold. Fight loot repeat. The game offers a decent challenge requiring good decision making with gear and combat. Any gripes I have can be solved relatively easily since OSUR is still active on this project. There is no wiki so you need to experiment and dig around if you want answers to some mechanics.
Finally beat this game. After coming back to it after some time. When it was first released it was too difficult. Not enough resources. You'd just be stuck. no heals, no mana. After a bunch of updates this game flows well. Still a challenge, but much more fair. Very enjoyable. A great Diablo 1 clone. Best I have played. Worth your time for sure. Tight play, with a healthy Loot/Lvl crawl. SAVE OFTEN. SAVE WITH TWO DIFF FILES ALWAYS. I never lost a save file, but I crashed often. Steady saving remedied this. I did lose progress here and there, but with a healthy saving habit, I never got too frustrated. If you loved Diablo 1. You'll love this. A sincere homage.
