Toy Robot is one of literally thousands of retro 2D platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere... and I'm not kidding. Searching for "platformers" on the Steam store page yields over 17,000 results! Is this one of the best of those? Absolutely not. This probably isn't the worst platformer ever, but it's hardly going to win any prizes for being tall for a midget. Certainly this suffers from almost every problem 2D platformers have in some way or another, but at least this is free and the graphics aren't pixelcrap. There's a range of general platformer features, a bit of shooting and some destructible tiles, in case that sways you if you're on the fence about this one (but looking at the peak player count, most Steam gamers didn't even see the fence). Platforming is an old, mostly dead genre, and this lacklustre experience, while it doesn't have an upfront cost, isn't saving the genre... it's no surprise this failed to capture any attention from gamers in the era of immersive 3D gaming. Игра "Toy Robot" - это увлекательная головоломка, которая, на первый взгляд, кажется простой, но быстро становится настоящим испытанием на логику и планирование. Игроку предстоит программировать движения маленького робота на квадратном поле, чтобы он посетил все заданные точки. Особенно понравилось, что сложность возрастает постепенно, но неуклонно. Начинаешь с элементарных команд, а потом нужно просчитывать целые цепочки действий, избегая препятствий и учитывая ограничения пространства. Интерфейс минималистичен и интуитивно понятен, что позволяет сконцентрироваться на игровом процессе, а не на управлении. Несмотря на кажущуюся простоту, игра очень затягивает и мотивирует решать сложные задачи. Это отличный способ развить навыки программирования и пространственного мышления. Единственный небольшой минус - хотелось бы больше разнообразия в визуальном оформлении, но это нисколько не умаляет достоинств самой игры. Рекомендую всем любителям головоломок!
