Trace Vector is a high speed action arcade game with puzzle elements. Featuring a modern take on vector style graphics, Trace Vector plays like an easy to learn, hard to master, game of the golden age of the 80′s video arcades. Race your space ship through each geometric level grabbing extra fuel cells along the way. Reach a viable goal to shatter the networks' hold on your ship and increase your speed. Simple controls keep you focused on navigating the increasingly complex webs at ever increasing speeds. Collect fuel cells and warp time to assist in the precision maneuvering needed to ace a level! Warping time quickly exhausts precious fuel. If you deplete your fuel and crash it's game over.
Hyperspace networks have hazards at every turn. Dead end paths, barriers, and worm holes that can send you back in time and space increase the danger; forcing you to think ahead and be prepared to deal with your previous route through the network. Hyperspace is a strange place. Go forth brave pilot. Keep your wits in order, escape the neon labyrinths, and scavenge enough fuel to return home safely.
Adventure Mode: A unique driving and evolving soundtrack designed for Trace Vector matches your progress through each of the twelve zones. Help Jason and his ship Aurora return to home planet by exploiting an ancient and hazardous hyper network! Your wits, reflexes, and rockin' tunes are your tools for survival in this high energy neon journey!
Endless Mode: Go for distance! A continuously generated high speed level spans before you as gain speed and avoid crashing! Pass the previously set high score markers and take over the high score board! No quarters are required to retry.

[h1] [b]New contender for Tempest dimension[/b] Interesting game with Atari 2600 like visuals and a bit psychedelic presentation. Feels pretty much like Tempest however gameplay is a bit different... it's all about following the trace. Might appear simple but just wait for next levels. Music is decent and builds the ambience neat and nicely. Play with controller for maximum satisfactory input as music goes, so controller is starting to make the rhythm (shake shake shake). I was looking for a game that could somewhat remind me of the Vectrex. On thar front, Trace Vector does a good job. And the simple gameplay is fine, but there is an exceptional amount of downtime for the player what should be an arcade style game. The game play loop is simple enough. Guide your little cursor up and down along branching lines picking up fuel and avoiding hazards. That is the game. However, before each vector maze, the game absolutely has to show you the whole thing. Sure, fine, I guess it is good to know what is coming up. But the preamble and score tally between actually playing is just about half the time of playing the game. I don't know about others, but I play retro style videos to increase the amount of time I'm playing the game. Not play for 20-30 seconds and then wait 20-30 seconds to play again. This stop and go loop pulls me out of the 'one more try' every time I boot up the game. Not that there is a whole lot here in terms of game play. Maybe it takes a bit to find some fun in this game, but I don't feel like something going for a basic premise should take that effort to search for. Deceptively simple. Amazing sound track. addictive gameplay
The game really captures the X-Y (Vector) monitor aesthetic well, containing colorful, glowy, crisp vector lines and blinky points of light. Quick reaction, cardinal direction gameplay. Energetic and catchy soundtrack. A solid package that's a blast to play!
It looks good but its too hard and it has a lot of unskipable stuff. Even if the game was slowed down, it would still be pretty repetitive and uninspired so really it just has the looks.
