On this small scale RPG, combat is mostly optional and relies on preparedness, while true progression comes from exploration and familiarity with the savory cooking mechanic, which lets you decide the exact effects of each meal you prepare, the systems are simple, but the game is short enough that they don't become exhaustive. The colorful art makes for a bright and pleasant journey, and alleviates the issue with pixel art, grid based games by making each resource, interactable, and enemy type visually distinct, letting you know what they are at glance, the game has decent writing, amusing moments, and tasteful references and don't detract from the world, all accompanied by a handful of well selected songs, this is [b]certainly a petite, but beautiful hidden gem.[/b]
