Tuneria

Alright, time to drop a review here. This game is pretty darn fun. As a former musician, Tuneria hits a special place in my heart that not many games do. The overall story in this game is pretty darn solid (and the ending had me in tears), but the true gems are in the random bits of dialogue you see when interacting with the environment. And that's my next recommendation: interact with [b]EVERYTHING[/b]. There are so many decorative objects lying around, and while the better portion of them aren't interactive, the lines you get when they [i]are[/i] makes it worth clicking everything. You'll see puns, witty comments, and all-around great humour - which, sure, is in the main story as well, but not nearly to this extreme. The game is not overly combat heavy - there's some combat, but no grinding, no respawning enemies, and it's very much not the core of the game. Which is great, because it means moving through the story at a good pace. When you are in combat, your characters can attack, defend, use items, and play one of the tunes they have learned (the equivalent of skills, in other games). Fun RPG, would groan again! This game has a lot more to offer than just a truckload of puns and jokes, though. It surprised me just how much playtime I got out of it and I really enjoyed the exploration, the tune system and the additional minigames found throughout the game. The turn-based combat was generally on the easier side but still fun and complex enough to keep it interesting. One last thing I feel I must mention is the game's great soundtrack. Given that this game puts so much emphasis on music, a mediocre soundtrack would hurt, but this one absolutely delivers! If you have some time on your hands and are looking for a relaxing game with lots to explore you should give this a shot! (Disclaimer: I won my copy of the game but it is absolutely worth its price, in my opinion.)

This game is for a very niche group of people. If your into "actually playing" musical instruments, and like JRPG this 100% for you!! Every one else i would say go in slowly and know you will have to do some self learning. I really want to like this Game given a friend of a friend made it but there are a few things i would heads up before buying. I want to give a real fair breakdown and for some people the things i note may not bother but for me It made it not as fun. First the bad: 1: The tutorial or lack there of. You work out how to use thing but its kinda a big guessing game press keys on key board. 2: No controller support. To be fair it never said it would but i could do movement and menus so I would have really like this. This might have been the biggest thing for me if I'm being honest. 3. When you get your internment and have to play its kinda unclear what to do like it says to play but not what to play and you have to hit esc to progress just felt odd to me. The Good: 1: The music is great. 2: All the little jokes and puns are fun to find. 3: The style fits right in with what the game is going for. 4: The story seems interesting. You only get so far before you become stuck on a never ending loop battle against Chorval some boss whats going on with this battle I cant do anything stuck repeating over and over like no fun i give up on it and there no walk through nothing i can find on this game seems like i'm the only one that's played it!
