Learn or enhance your skills in flying the most commonly used types of combat FPV drones.This mode includes dozens of diverse missions in real-life combat zones.Learn how to:- Plan and execute combat missions: select platform and loadout, set targets (vehicles, infantry, shelters), analyze their number, locations, weather, time of day, terrain, electronic warfare, etc.
- Complete a pre-flight protocol following a real combat routine: verify components, ground station status, battery, communication type, and payload configuration.

Learned FPV flying with this sim in ~7.5h. A normal workday. Just followed all academy basics except free-flight and the mini-quad (aiming for 10" fpv skills). Played multiplayer since to hone skills, and it works great. As for vehicle targeting, I've found it to be sufficient. Don't have many problems as long as you know where to hit. Don't know yet if other guys are right, seems like the PG round's focused charge must be aimed very precicely at the part or crew you want to damage, as armored vehicle spalling does not seem to be simulated which is fine. Allows you to more precicely train targeting and hitting very specific targets. Awesome sim, highly recommend. You just need to have a goal in mind and keep being patient with yourself. Thankfully i was lucky and flying was relatively easy to me, after following the awesome academy missions. Слава Україні!!!1 found this helpful
Of the 4 FPV combat sims I have tried on Steam, UFDS is the best by far. I recommend it with a few caveats. It would benefit from more content or a mission editor. The recent addition of a couple multiplayer scenarios greatly extend the fun of coming back to UFDS, but there are a few bugs and poorly explained mechanics. I hope devs will follow up on fixing bugs, adding scenarios, and maybe add training missions geared towards teaching people how to counter mortar teams and perform well in the multiplayer scenarios. Also, caution, if you don't already know how to fly FPV, it is not easy, and it's best with a specialized controller. You would do well to supplement your training with UFDS and some racing or exploration focused FPV sims. Binds can be a little tricky, and UFDS is clearly oriented towards FPV radios currently in use in UA, such a radiomaster stuff. I use a TX16S with a USB reciever dongle, and everything works great, but I also ended up setting up a model just for this game on my radio. Basically, it's good to have a number of 2 or 3 position switches which each appear to windows as axis (like 0, 50, 100 on an axis for a 3 position switch). "ultrarealistic" and there is no controller rates? no betaflight? no actual? There is so much content, so many settings, motors, props, payloads, frames, enemies, even EW is there. And after all this there is no second most elementary setting? (right after pid). I am unwilling to destroy my muscle memory for this simple oversight of the devs.
