About Undying Flower
Journey into the darkest memories of Nala, looking for a way to erase the trauma and regret through an experimental treatment. The Flower will guide you through to what you may need.
Two sides to every coin. Two sides to every memory. Journey through shared memories of Nala and her late grandfather, piecing together the truth of what happened between them, the joy, the sorrow, and everything in between.
How do you fix regret? How much will it take? The pieced-together truth may provide the solution. Or it might push Nala even further into despair, grappling with her guilt. The only way to know is to test.
Test. Test. Then test again. Change the variables. Change the answers. Find a way to erase the regret. Eventually.

₊˚。゚ʚɞ•━━┈꒰ა ⊱✦⊰ ໒꒱┈•━━ ʚɞ ₊˚。゚ Thank you very much for the memorable birthday gift, my lovely friend, Eni. I’m eternally grateful for your presence and love in my life. I love you. An absolutely captivating and powerful tale! It flows seamlessly and beautifully, highlighting essential truths about what truly matters in life through themes of regret, loneliness, and misunderstanding. Without giving too much away, I chose the happy ending because Nala deserves a break. Additionally, this game deserves to be cherished and appreciated. ₊˚。゚ʚɞ•━━┈꒰ა ⊱✦⊰ ໒꒱┈•━━ ʚɞ ₊˚。゚
You can find more detailed recommendations on my curator page Raghad's Choice.
⋆。‧˚ʚ♡ɞ˚‧。⋆21 found this helpful
Undying Flower is an emotionally driven narrative experience that places reflection and symbolism far above traditional gameplay challenge. Developed by Calcatz and published by indie.io, the game positions itself as an introspective journey through memory, guilt, and the difficult process of self-forgiveness. Rather than telling its story through conventional plot progression or exposition, it invites players into a fragmented inner world shaped by trauma, where meaning is conveyed through atmosphere, visual metaphor, and quiet moments of contemplation. The story centers on Nala, a young woman undergoing an experimental procedure meant to help her confront—or possibly erase—a deeply painful memory tied to her grandfather. Players explore a surreal “memory world” constructed from her recollections, guided by an enigmatic presence known as the Flower. These memories are not presented as straightforward flashbacks, but as symbolic spaces that blend reality with abstraction. Scenes unfold gradually, often without explicit explanation, encouraging players to piece together emotional context rather than consume a clearly defined narrative. This approach makes the experience feel intima…5 found this helpful
This is a game that's attempting to punch above its weight class. The animations seem a little stiff, the music is sometimes awkwardly straightforward, some puzzles have so many options that you become confused on how to express that you understand what's it's asking of you... It shouldn't work. It shouldn't be as good as it is. It's a beautiful game that touches on so many interesting concepts, mechanics, and emotional beats and does so in ways that leave me wanting more. The premise of "See both the Killer and the Killed's perspectives!" ends up being false, but the story that is actually told is beautifully executed instead. All in all, that sense of wanting more makes it feel like a piece of something greater. A testrun of ideas that could be executed in a larger project. It leaves many unanswered questions open for the player to interpret, and having the scene-altering and personal interview mechanics for an event similar to the initial pitch for this game would be so much fun to see. I hope this game does well enough this team can iterate upon some of its ideas.4 found this helpful
Finished the game with good ending, and I could say I really love the story!!! It's actually simple but the devs managed to show Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) pretty clearly, especially the splitting part that people with BPD often go through. Sometimes it feels a bit over the top, but honestly, patient of BPD indeed suffer split even over small or silly things, for example, having their “favorite person” (FP) act different towards them (which is also shown really well in this game) That said, the storytelling got a bit confusing before the main character started diving into her memories. I wasn’t totally sure why she (The Protagonist) needed to go back into her past just to be “free from this space and time.” Like, does she have some huge regret? How urgent is it really? Should've explore more about her trauma & regret before going through her memory. Also, I feel like new characters didn’t need to be there when it could’ve been better to go deeper into her relationship with her grandfather or maybe her family. The memory puzzles were super fun tho! If I had to point out a downside (if it even counts), it’s probably the object examining part—the effects were kinda too mu…3 found this helpful

Undying Flower is not bad, but it was a miss for me. I think some of the moments landed, but it just didn't quite catch me outside of one specific moment. The music was decent, the animations were decent, but something about the way the story was told was a bit too simplistic for me. I think the game tries to be a bit too artsy for my taste, but I will 100% say that there is an audience out there for games like this that would appreciate the story that is told here. Loss is a huge theme, and we can definitely all relate. I think that having the end result given away off the bat and having to fill in the gaps is what threw me off. Regardless, though I wouldn't recommend it, it is easy to see the devs put a lot of passion into the experience. Shout out to the team that created the game even though it's not my preference!1 found this helpful
