About Uootoy 3671
The legendary comical action puzzle game 'Uootoy' -- which was first published in the August 1984 issue of I/O Magazine (published by Kougaku-sha), gained popularity on the FM-7, PC-88, and Sharp X1. Now the ultimate evolution has arrived in the form of 'Uootoy 3671'.
The objective of the game is simply to arrive at the goal. However, a plethora of obstacles stand in your way. Simplistic yet amazingly varied, every stage is bound to keep you entertained.
TENTEN-kun, the star of the original 'Uootoy', will be joined by TELTEL-chan. As either the hero or heroine, players can take on all 100 of the original Uootoy's stages. An even greater challenge awaits in the story mode, which contains 100 new stages. A map editor is also included, ensuring many sleepless nights for dedicated players.
Uootoy 3671 features a team of massively talented musicians. WING, whose credits include the 'Mega Drive Mini 2' and previous Mindware titles, has produced the sound system. Junko Ozawa, the legendary Namco composer.

Mindware continues to revive old, somewhat obscure Japanese indie titles, and bringing awareness to their existence. Not content with a mere re-release, they usually do their own take on these games, keeping the old spirit and original gameplay mechanics, while adding lots of new content, and the quality of life features one expects from a recent title. Uootoy 3671 may be their best release yet. The game is a charming and addictive puzzle platformer, where users must use their creativity to beat the extensive amount of levels available. This is the sort of game where you aren't tied to one solution, you truly have free reign in finding various ways (some surely not even expected by the developers) to reach the goal. Besides the wonderful retro pixel art presentation, 3 soundtrack variants (one by the great Junko Ozawa), and a very generous amount of content (200+ stages, a number that keeps on growing, with additional stage packs being released), the game has a very easy to use stage editor, which is sure to extend the life of the game, and to pick the curiosity of gamers who enjoy exercising their creativity by doing their own stages. All in all, Uootoy 3671 is surely the most …8 found this helpful
Mindware never disappoints with these fun retro games! I love this one 😁6 found this helpful
I'm a fan of Mindware games generally, and have been waiting for this one for a while. It's proving different and interesting. Not having played the original Uootoy I had assumed it would be somewhat like Solomon's Key or Lode Runner, which on some level it is, but it actually plays like a more cerebral MegaMan/Rockman due to the platforming elements and need to evade surprising projectiles. The level design has, so far, been really good. It's old school - you die, a lot, but with that comes more satisfaction at beating it. Mindware has a talent for updating 8 bit graphics. Here rather than arcade mania (like in Alien Field) it's slower and more detailed, which suits the game perfectly. This is how we imagined those home computer games of the 80s to be. This is probably the Mindware game with the widest appeal. It's also very good, and deserves to get that bigger audience. We should all hope to be real penguins.5 found this helpful
Filled to the brim with challenging well designed levels, tight responsive controls, an excellent soundtrack and a level editor so the fun doesn't end. It's peak arcade styled puzzle action.5 found this helpful
Surprisingly tough game on the brain cells and reactions sometimes too. First levels are kids easy. They are there to learn the ropes but then it gets difficult really fast. Mind you game genre is still platforming action but there is a lot of weird figuring out how to beat a level and in some cases doing it fast before something is no longer accessible. In quite many cases there is a seemingly 'one and only path forward' yet when you either see the solution someone else figured out or play enough yourself to find alternatives the actual best method forward can be something entirely different. Levels sometimes have structures that doesnt seem to have much purpose, until you figure out a way to lead your enemies to these structures. Things like this. Cannot quite name any other game that does this in this same way. A bit of a negative: Some mechanics need to be learnt as there is lacking info in the tutorials about them. Such as occupying a 2x2 square next to a ledge. It looks like enemies are about to come into you, well they dont. They pass you over. Or how about collapsing ice structures by building a ice block underneath and collapsing that one you built will collapse the whol…4 found this helpful
