Urban Undergrounds

As the date I'm writing this, I cannot recommend this game. The idea is nice and probably the story would be cool... If I could ever get to the end. The game has a serious game-breaking bug that prevents progression, in the second section with the creature. Basically the game asks you to look for your friend Marcus in some abandoned bunker. He's the adventurous type and likes to explore such stuff; however this bunker has some sort of entity lurking in it. There are at least two sections in the game where you have to find the key while avoiding such creature. Those sections kinda remind me of an horror game I love called Monstrum; however, here they are no fun at all, because the entity just speedruns and camps your place. I had to just stay afk for at least 10 minutes in the first one because the entity was just afk going 2/3 steps away from the entrance then running back. The second one, though, is where my patience for this game bottomed out: it's a larger section full of lockers; you can avoid the entity by hiding in these lockers and luckily it doesn't open them. Despite wanting to give this game a positive review, I feel like it just isn't in a polished enough state for me to do so. The over reliance on cheap scares and lack of tension building really soured my experience for the game. Not to mention the lack of a Gen AI disclaimer is already a major red flag. The biggest advice I could give is to ditch the Generative AI used in the project. It doesn't add anything and leaves a bad impression on most people. My other critique is how unoptimized the game is. Just because it's an Unreal Engine game, doesn't mean it needs to preform like one (if you know what I mean). Besides that, I totally see the vision for the game and would gladly change my review if these changes were made

Urban Undergrounds is a pretty effective little horror game, and I liked how quickly it puts me into an uncomfortable situation. I play as an urban explorer returning to an abandoned bunker after my friend Marcus disappears, and the setup gives me a good reason to keep moving deeper even when everything around me is telling me to turn back. The underground setting works especially well because there is nowhere that feels completely safe. The gameplay focuses on exploration, stealth and survival rather than combat. I have to move through dark corridors, search abandoned rooms, find keys and clues, and work out how to open new areas while avoiding the threats inside. I liked that I cannot simply shoot everything that scares me. Running away or hiding becomes the main option, which makes encounters feel much more tense. The puzzles are fairly straightforward, but they fit the experience well. I am mostly looking around for information and objects that help me progress, while environmental details gradually reveal more about what happened in the bunker. buggy unplayable ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Hey I appreciate the game is free and am a big indie horror fan having played all kinds of stuff all over the spectrum of quality. So believe me when I say I've played way worse than your game. The idea, janky controls and animations, weird plot and bad ai aren't even the issues why I can't recommend it - there was still at times some fun atmosphere and little spooks. I can't recommend it because I literally can't play the game once I reach that second encounter with the creature, where like another review says, respawning option stalls the game and only once in a while lets you come back after a huge wait to clones of yourself - which I'm assuming is on respawn instances of the character are being duplicated from scratch and the prior not being culled. It's weird that you dunked on Annoying Crow, he was messing around but he still gave you a positive review and kept things silly. Maybe instead of taking goofy things seriously telling people they type diarrhea you could fix the literal game breaking bug your game has so people can, you know, play it. Good luck with that!
