USAC: Code Breach

In an age full of friendslop games, this one is a true gem. I expected a simple co-op puzzle game but it turned out to be a ride. Wonderful content, intriguing storyline, very detailed worldbuilding. Some minor details were wonderfully thought, even to a point that it creates marvellous visual story telling, not to mention how original the game assets were as well. I have to say, this game is one of the best coop puzzles games out there, without a doubt, yet it seemingly went unnoticed because I assume the budget went onto the quality of the game instead of the marketing aspect. As we all know, most developers focus primarily on selling instead polishing the work. The devs here are the exact opposite of that trend, which is why they deserve the support more than most (despite being French =)). I already bought it to 2 friends and probably will gift more whenever I have the chance. I also want to thank the devs for being silent heroes, I see that this was their first work and I really hope they will continue to make games. This game is a hidden gem if you have a friend to play with.

In the beginning, especially the tutorial, the game feels very cheap. HOWEVER, it's later stages are a lot better in term of presentation. Some puzzles left me feeling very stupid after we solved them, but until we solved them they felt very frustrating. For one puzzle we even discussed looking the solution up online (225). I'm glad we didn't. Some puzzles require to "play around" but be assured: this game has no red herings, meaning if you can interact with something, you probably need to.

lore was shallow, gameplay was not balanced between the two roles properly, a handful of puzzles need just a little more information, ending was hollow dissatisfying

Good enough I guess

Haven't completed the game yet, I will, eventually, trust. I will tell you one thing...THE ROLES ARE COMPLETELY UNBALANCED. One dude has a poop butt pistol, while the other guy is locked and loaded with an assault rifle, a shotgun, and all the ammo he could need. Oh, and he does most of the puzzles and the other role literally relies on him COMPLETELY for his side of things. "Digital Infiltrator" is what the role is called, but the heavy duty bodyguard guy is the one feeding you information most of the time. You are just forced to stand around sometimes, with no cooperation, for the other character to complete hacking. The heavy armor non stealth operator gets the hacking device btw. The "stealth" character which they tell you is a thing hasn't been given any stealth opportunities so far in the game, but HEY, they gave em a screwdriver. He can unscrew the panels and the other guy can hack into the panel and complete the puzzle. Seriously devs, this is something that shouldn't have been overlooked. I had my teammate yell at me to help him, thinking I'm what it takes to solve the last piece of the puzzle, but no, he had complete expectations that SURELY I was going to do something. I…
