About Vespa's Test

To see the future is hard, but to see yourself is even harder.

Vespa's test is a short, atmospheric personality test. During your time meeting with the titular and inquisitive Vespa, you'll answer a variety of questions about your life and the way you view the world, after which she'll attempt to read your present, and see what your greatest demons look like. There are numerous different outcomes, each of which is tailored from the answers you provide. What you choose to do with the insights provided, of course, is the greatest choice of all.

Bagdul, city of Sapphires. A modern kingdom flanked for miles by sand and dust. Playground of the rich, resting place of the poor, and herald of the new millennium, with mysteries and secrets around every corner.

One night, you follow a tip from a friend to a shady back-alley tucked between shadows. There, you find a out-of-place circus tent shrouded in the drippings of another world. What awaits within? Only one way to find out...
 • Short and relaxing
 • ~15 minutes playtime
 • Answer over 100 introspective questions
 • Various results depending on how you answer
 • Completely free

The results and questions are loosely based on psychologists Jeffrey E. Young, Ph.D. and Janet S. Klosko, Ph.D.'s concepts of "lifetraps", which attempt to model patterns of behavior that hold us back in life, but you couldn't possibly know that, could you?

"Vespa's Test" is not really a game, it's a dumb Facebook tier "personality test" that could have just been a HTML form. It trots out a garbage response based on your answers to various set questions. You'd get a better and more realistic response from ChatGPT. No, just no. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded despite the bad graphics, not because of them. This is only free in a rudimentary sense... the developer has their hand out for a $2 USD "donation" for this as you're expected to buy some extra DLC from Steam... digital panhandling. Like the homeless guys who splash dirty water on your windscreen at the traffic lights. No thanks. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 6 concu…

I did not have fun, yet I felt hesitant to leave a negative review, because I would not call this a game. This is just a personality test which is less boring to take, but boring nonetheless. In the end, I received the most relevant ending possible out of all the other endings. Therefore, I will give it a positive review.

An interesting way to spend half an hour or so. I enjoyed it. One nice touch, after you do it once, you get to read all the possible outcomes without having to go back and try to figure out how to get them. Easy to recommend. One thumb up.
