About Vesta

Vesta is a witty 6-year-old girl who lives in a desolate underground maze – the ruins of a once-bright city inhabited by humans and perfect machines. Although this world can be lonely, she is kept company by her friend BOT. It advises her and encourages her to do the tasks she is assigned, although it knows much more than it lets on. In order to survive in this passive yet hostile environment, BOT will give Vesta a real helper – DROID. He may be a bit rough around the edges, but he'll handle physical tasks that would be impossible for a fully grown adult, let alone a little girl. Besides, he is the perfect weapon to defend against the dangers lurking in the remains of this abandoned complex.

Join Vesta as she explores various environments over 36 levels full of obstacles and enemy robots. She'll need her brains and DROID's power to traverse this varied landscape, properly manage the little energy left in the complex, solve the numerous puzzles she finds in her path, and even fight to survive. But most of all she will need to discover the truth of this story.

Vesta: ~~~~~ Some people find themselves in a pickle every now and then. This one is rather large with plenty of challenges ahead, especially if the person is 6 years old. This is Vesta’s predicament; she was woken up by a BOT on the 152nd floor of a deserted underground city, on another planet far from earth with the exciting news that the energy resources are running extremely low. With the help of a BOT and a DROID, she must make her way to the surface, fight various robots and discover what really happened on this planet. Vesta is a puzzle / adventure game where you control a 6 year-old girl and a DROID. Your goal is to reach the surface of planet OPS by completing 36 levels in 4 chapters. After a very nice cartoon-style introduction, the first few levels are basically a nicely laid-out tutorial. After learning how to transfer the energy from the multifunctional Energy Transnobbler to the device she has on her back and vice versa, Vesta will be ready to make her way to the upper levels. At the start of the game Vesta will only have the capacity to store one bar of energy in her device. Rest assured she will earn another two storage bars fairly quickly within chapter one. …

This is a console ported modestly low poly 3D rendered 2D top down action/puzzle game with a cutesy theme as you guide an engineer around various cartoony/sci-fi themed levels siphoning energy from one place and depositing it in another, while avoiding enemies shooting at you and so on. In a bewildering demonstration of just how out of touch they are, they tell you to use a console peasant childrens toy gamepad despite this being on Steam, on PC. That kind of insult to PC gamers isn't really acceptable. Putting insults aside, the controls here aren't all that great (console game, what did we expect?). The graphics are a little simplistic which is a shame, but the game was designed for consoles and that means sacrificing quality to cater to console peasants. If the console port was done in a better way and more respectful to gamers this might be a "maybe", but Steam doesn't give us a "maybe" option. So, as the review question asks, do I recommend this game? Not for $10 USD for a mediocre at best console port. $10 would buy you a proper PC native game, so I recommend one of those instead of this.

Relatively simple yet challenging puzzle game, with rather quirky characters (not too many, but still) with Vesta of course being my favourite. Also the cutscenes are made in comic style which looks great! It starts easy but gets increasingly tougher to the point of one level being exceedingly frustrating and the final boss being quite a hike in difficulty (if you're RNG unlucky like when the boss decides to punch you and you're not close enough to the escape point) but either way it's all manageable. I kinda like the story unfolding via logs and the snippets you'll get to know through the various robots on the way, but I'm not entirely sure what to think of the entirety of the background story and the ending that leaves a few questions unanswered for me. Encountered maybe one bug if I remember correctly but it was neither a big deal nor game breaking or anything, the only real downside I personally see, and this is really just me, that the checkpoints don't remember your personal progress. If you die and get reset to the checkpoint, they have predetermined progress saved for that. But at least as far as I could see this was more to the advantage of me rather than disadvantage, …

Overlooked Indie Gem - 7.5/10 Vesta is a wonderful puzzle-platformer with a really nice artstyle and an awesome story. You change between two different characters, the main character Vesta and her Robot, trying to complete the different puzzles in the levels. The story and the dialogue is very interesting too, even better than I expected. The only thing I can criticize is the checkpoint-placement. There are just not enough checkpoints overall, you can easily fall off an edge and have to do the whole level again, that can be frustrating. Overall a very enjoyable indie game. 100%-Achievement-Difficulty: Easy, pretty straight up achievements that can be completed in one run or afterwards in the level selection. Vesta (3.0 stars out of 5) Brief description of gameplay: The game is a puzzle/stealth game. You need to reach the end of the level by accumulating enough energy which can be found throughout the level. Sometimes the energy is just sitting round and sometimes you need to use your druid friend to shoot robots and take their energy. The game still has stealth mechanics because as the little girl you are defenseless from the robots, so you need to find ways around them in the level. There no real stealth abilities but the game felt stealthy especially in level 4. My personal opinion: This game is a nice puzzle game. I enjoyed each level and searching for the secrets. The game does a very good job at starting easy and getting kind of crazy. Unfortunately the combat (and as a result the boss fights) were not as clean and obvious as i would have liked. I had issues where the Droids shot did not match his laser, sometimes his shot somehow missed the target or it was really difficult to get the right aim which can get really annoying when your timed to do those actions. Overall I still enjoyed my time with Vesta. Pros: the puzzles are well thought out. They add a decent amount of new ro…

Quite nice puzzles-level game... I only miss cloud for save-games. Even at full-price (10€) is worthy
