Tried playing with keyboard and instead of using wasd the default is ijkl, i'd rather not get use to some new layout for this game so i tried to re-map the keys only to find out you cannot use the mouse for keys.

Overall worth a thumbs up, because once you get used to it it's really fun. The only major issue is that it's not always easy to hit the enemies like you intend to. But the artwork and music create a good atmosphere, and even after beating it it's still worth a couple of runs just for fun. #LoveIndies

NOT RECOMMENDED - it is simply a big pain in the A to play. The controls are super stiff and the enemies' have patterns that outright grief you by taking advantage of it. It is often unclear where you even are. In normal play the game kills you by level 3 (out of 13) where the damaging starts because you only have four (4) points of health while a casual playthrough most likely involves over 100 hits. You know - in a roguelite meaning you can never heal. Also the overheating mechanic means you will take damage even when you are just moving around. The default keyboard control scheme is clearly left-handed and it tends to default back to that scheme shortly afterwards. The game is short anyways. You can probably beat it in 45 minutes if you are lucky and use the heavy damage weapons such as the scythe. There is no payoff at the end anyway, a vague poetry slideshow and something about escaping to Mars, before the game loops back to the beginning.

Violet Cycle is a frenetic and visually striking roguelike action game developed by Weckr Industries and published by Digerati. It stands out immediately for its electrifying sense of speed and its commitment to an aesthetic that fuses cyberpunk energy with minimalist arcade precision. At its core, the game revolves around climbing a procedurally generated tower, fighting through waves of enemies and environmental hazards while managing a delicate balance between aggression and control. Each run challenges the player to ascend thirteen increasingly dangerous floors, where every movement, attack, and decision contributes to a larger rhythm of risk and reward. The premise is simple, but the execution is relentless—Violet Cycle is a test of focus and reflexes, a game that rewards skill and punishes hesitation. The gameplay structure is built on a foundation of procedural chaos. Every floor you encounter is newly generated, ensuring that no two runs ever feel the same. Enemies, traps, and environmental elements such as debris, pits, and hazard tiles are rearranged each time, forcing players to constantly adapt their strategies on the fly. Combat is fast-paced and fluid, relying heavil…

If you like what you see, controller play may be alright, refund if not? Keyboard controls are a mess, not WSAD, can't assign mouse at all, WSAD change resulted in turning only no actual movement, and arrow keys already assigned, won't allow assigning, even in a 2018 release, HUH? Refunded.

Too many negative reviews for this little gem. It's nice to look at and it plays at a fast pace. If you are wish listing this game make sure to pick it up on sale and drop a positive review if you like it. It's got some jank in the UI but it plays like it looks in the 15min I played at least and I made it to stage 3. Game seems short if your good at souls games but it seems like a good game to beat in a day kind of thing. Good luck and Praise the Sun
