A Violent Revelry

Really enjoyed the first game from the dev, so far this one feels pretty dead in the water. Hasn't received any update in over a year, I'd refund if I wasn't over the 2 hour limit

So, the first game is a really good and challenging RL, but this is just another turd on the open world indie ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Nothing makes sense and the lack of direction doesn't work well for this game, NO MORE OPEN WORLDS I HATE THEM

combat and weapon making is so fun, and the other 70% of the game you're forced to endure is slow, hard, and purposely obtuse. if they made a pure arena combat mode and just threw resources at you between each round, this game would be much better.

More annoying than fun. There are so many annoying quirks in this game just designed to piss the player off. The animation is also ugly and choppy, I have no idea why the character stutters like it was a spastic and the combat is as fun as trying to throw a feather.

Massively frustrating at first, but supremely satisfying if you persist. After bouncing several times it didn't click for me until about 20 hours in. The tutorial is sparse, hardly anything is explicit in game, and you'll die repeatedly due to completely unavoidable ignorance. Combat is slow and clunky to begin with, but once you start building your stats (press C and click the level up symbol at the top, then E on the position of the stat) it becomes increasingly elegant. Best of all, since there is hardly any material online about the game AI cannot help you. Yep, you're actually on your own! Because of this, it somehow captures that golden pre-internet sense of discovery, before games had wikis and their secrets became checklists to tick off. It's not finished, and possibly abandoned, but there's more content and mechanics hidden away here than most 'finished' games leave EA with.
