So apparently they added a requirement that you have Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 somewhat recently, which super sucks. Especially with the people who may be coming in to check it out based on the news about VF6. There is, however, a saving grace: by simply tricking the game into thinking you're on steamdeck, you can bypass the secure boot check. Just go to Preferences > Launch Options and put "SteamDeck=1". Don't know if it works for everyone, but it did work for me. My review is only negative because of this change. I love this game and am really looking forward to the next one.11 found this helpful
I was wondering why this game stopped running suddenly. Apparently they added TPM and secureboot. Well I guess I am not running it until I buy a new computer. And in this economy?9 found this helpful
Secure Boot and TPM were retroactively made mandatory requirements to play the game. I bought the game and played it way before this was a thing. Game worked just fine without them. If I remember correctly it's always been one way; you make the game based on certain technical requirements and it stays that way until the game is obsolete, you don't get to change the requirements after people have actually bought and played the game. I don't know who this serves, really, but go ahead, knock yourselves out. I'm not playing the game until this "requirement" is completely removed.6 found this helpful
