At this time, I can't make a recommendation on this game. The controls are a huge deal breaker right now. I SWEAR I'm hitting the right timing, but for whatever reason, it keeps missing. There needs to be a calibration option or something, because it's near impossible to make a recommendation when the simple act of moving during the fighting sequences causes issues. I can play other rhythm games just fine. Heck, I was able to do several songs in DDR on heavy mode (even doubles play), but this.....this isn't good. Other rhythm games I can do well in include the likes of necrodancer (the direct inspiration for this title) and beat saber. I have no trouble with rhythm, but this game....I just can't get the calibration down and keep missing notes when I clearly have the beat correct.2 found this helpful
we don't talk about my playtime on this game...2 found this helpful
Waifus Smash is an indie action-adventure game developed and published by Galart that combines rhythmic combat, light role-playing progression, environmental puzzles, and anime-inspired character collecting into a colorful fantasy adventure. Instead of concentrating on a single gameplay style, the game merges several familiar mechanics into a straightforward experience that emphasizes exploration and constant progression. While its anime presentation immediately catches the eye, the title offers more than visual appeal by encouraging players to master combat timing, uncover hidden areas, and steadily unlock new companions throughout their journey. Combat serves as the game's defining feature thanks to its rhythm-oriented mechanics. Rather than encouraging endless button mashing, encounters reward players who synchronize their attacks with the intended rhythm, creating battles that feel more deliberate and engaging. This mechanic adds a refreshing twist to otherwise familiar action gameplay and gives each fight a greater sense of involvement. Although the rhythm system remains accessible enough for newcomers, it still requires attention and consistency, making victories feel earned…1 found this helpful
Ok
Great concept but absolutely horribly atrocious execution. If the rhythm game elements were more fleshed out, it would be an infinitely nicer experience. (or you could just set it to free movement mode which ruins the fun) Also the story is very linear. A game that's balls-to-the-walls with this concept is 'Yoiyami Dancers: Twilight Danmaku Dancers'.
While the gameplay is "okay" at best, the game has a decent amount of awesome tracks. Soundtrack available when?!
