What Steam players say

Players appreciate this turn-based strategy game for its charming presentation, cute art style, and solid gameplay mechanics that work well on Steam Deck, with some noting it successfully brings a beloved iOS game to PC. However, the campaign feels stripped-down compared to the original with less memorable storytelling and team dynamics, while side missions function as redundant tutorials rather than meaningful content, and the multiplayer scene reportedly lacks the depth players expected.
This game is very similar, but not exact, to the original. I'll start with the problems that I have with the game. First off, the campaign is a shell of it's former self. It used to be fun, where it started off with arguments over whether tomatoes were fruits and led to everyone teaming up in the final zone against the big bad (not going to spoil too much if I can help it). Now the campaign just has you fight against everyone and then take on the big bad with no additional teams. It lost it's sense of Self, so to say. Another problem is with the side missions and "challenges". They basically just act as another tutorial for the game, making it redundant. The last thing that I will say that I find as a negative for the game is that the multiplayer scene (arguably the highlight of the game) is lacking in certain areas. While there is an area where you can see the top players wins of the month and the best play of the day, there is other things that would add to the multiplayer scene that would improve interaction with players. Having something as simple as a score system that goes up the more you win and down the more you lose would give players a reason to really care about the le…2 found this helpful

Great turned based strategy game. Single player campaign is a lot of fun with the right amount of difficulty.1 found this helpful
A charming turn based strategy game reminiscent of the early 2000s. It really has me all caught up in a reverie. Takes me away to where I've always heard it could be, you know?1 found this helpful
Great new implementation of one of my fave iOS games of all time!1 found this helpful
I'd give Warbits+ a modest recommendation, something like a 3/5. It's a decent enough turn based strategy game that is heavily "influenced" by Advance Wars (much like Field Commander) and so my default recommendation would be to go play those games instead. If you already have, then Warbits+ is mostly more of the same with a few minor issues and a little bit of rebalancing. Most of the changes are honestly worse in my opinion, but I'll list all the ones I noticed; Most unit prices have been adjusted downwards There are no naval units... at all The campaign is slightly shorter (20 missions in total, took me just under 10 hours) Instead of each CO having a theme they all just share a playlist CO powers are not unique to each CO, instead you can choose from a range of powers on any turn by accessing your HQ building Unfortunately this means that you can't use CO powers if a unit (yours or an enemy's) is on top of the HQ [GOOD IDEA] You can "undo" up to 3 turns in a row, except in Fog of War missions If you undo multiple turns in a row it sometimes causes the in-game OST to stop playing music There are now multiple kinds of cities, most of which can't repair units (yay?) …
