I don't know how you can be lazy enough to screw up such a simple concept for a game. Early on it's alright, even if it is a slogging grind, but the more you play the more you are subject to constant ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that you have no power to prevent or overcome. Lets just get this over with and get straight to the bad: - Randoms spawns: There is no limit or pattern to these in dungeons. They can drag on a quick dungeon run meant to make some gold to a stupidly long length. Worse, they can chain back to back every turn. The monsters that spawn can be anything from rats, to end game monsters that can and will one-shot your characters, making the freaking 45 minutes you just spent in the dungeon completely wasted and then cripple you going forward. These needed serious level balance, and should be limited to one per room or a number per dungeon. - Random encounters: Like the random spawns, you can get a random encounter against any number of end game monsters early on in the game, and be limited to only one or two heroes to face them. You will lose, you will be penalized, and you can't do anything about it. In the rare chance that you get some powerful gear early on that gives you a fighti…8 found this helpful
So I was real excited for this one but I gotta say, Im fairly disappointed overall While it has good graphics, animation, and sound, the gameplay feels real stale. Theres nothing wrong with the moment to moment combat exactly, but Im just doing the same thing over and over. I guess it would be fine if it was the first game, but its a sequel... I dont need to vary my tactics at all. Its only ranged or melee, with maybe some resistances to look at. every map feels identical except different enemies, different paths in the map are pointless as exploration has no reward. Sometimes you are “ambushed”, and I thought “oh cool, Ill start surrounded by enemies” but no, you just start in the same room as always, with big stairs leading up to the surface and a door leading to the “ambush” Buying new characters (in taverns, not IAP I mean) seems utterly pointless - why would I not just stick with my starting 4? I never seem to have much gold. All my characters are constantly at “Level Up” status as I can only afford to bump one per mission or so. Anyone else got thoughts, similar or different? I wouldnt be so harsh, but its a sequel that feels like a retread1 found this helpful
I finished the game in about 17 hours, and my overall impression is that it's not a bad game, but it never quite reaches its potential. The game offers a variety of heroes with different classes, but in practice they often feel more similar than expected. Most of their uniqueness comes from items that grant passive or active abilities rather than from the classes themselves. Because of that, party composition never felt particularly exciting, and the main differences between characters usually came down to their equipment and available abilities. I ended up using my starting party for the entire game. Part of that was because they were already leveled up, but the progression system also discourages experimentation. New heroes require either grinding or spending money before they become useful, while level-up stat gains are randomized. In many cases, it feels easier to recruit a hero with good stats than to rely on an existing character developing the way you want. Despite that, my original party had accumulated enough gear and abilities to compensate for the randomness, so there was little reason to replace them. The campaign is divided into three parts: Beastmen, Skaven, and Ch…
Very foolish game. They should have gone back to the drawing board before releasing this one.
A lazy game with monotonous and boring gameplay, unfortunately. There is a reason they removed it from Steam...
