This is the best Total War they've ever made. Crazy significant unit variety, all kinds of weird looking troops and factions. All of my complaints about TW, mostly campaign mode, have been fixed. No more whack-a-mole against AI armies, and actual strategy needed for planning your buildings and territories. Troops don't break as easy as in other TW games, meaning the battles are nice and deadly. It's glorious. Only real complaint is DLC price, its crazy expensive if you want everything. 9/10 (You lose a point for predatory DLC systems. I'm already enslaved to PDX, please don't do this to me too, CA.)
It's fun if your into that sort of thing. Not up to date with AoS but I found it fun.
if you like total war then you'll love this entry. imo it's a must buy/own
I downloaded the base game to play SFO, and this is also my review of this mod, My Lord.
love it, great addition to total war franchise. Had some stuttering issues but easy fix by switching off shadow details and moving game to ssd.
good game with very good replayability that's further increased by great workshop mods, extremely predatory dlc's though
