About Water 2050
Water 2050 is a 2d isometric city manager about dealing with water pollution today so that we can have a future tomorrow.
Playing as the Major, you’ll run the last inhabitable city in a not-so-distant future in which we turned our planet into a massive polluted landfill. Most water in Water 2050 is very polluted and barely apt for humans; there is a lot of environmental damage that have almost end life on Earth. Nothing that a little time travel can’t fix.
Jump in time to the past to implement real-world technologies and behaviours that will reduce water pollution in the future. Deal with natural calamities, contaminated areas, hard choices, and a weirdly long-lived engineer that will assist you as much as possible. The future of Earth can be fixed today.
The game is developed in association by the Water Environment Asociation , and aims to raise awareness of current practices and technologies that are being implemented to reduce our water pollution, thus ensuring a better tomorrow for all of us. Part of the money raised with this game is allocated by the WEF to research, dissemination and programs that address solutions to the water crisis.

"Water 2050" is a rather preachy mobile app that was dumped on Steam as a cash grab. It's a basic iPhone screen tapper where you tap away at a mostly static environment, making choices and building up your stats as you pretend to manage a city, all the while being personally blamed for the environmental damage caused by major corporations. Once more they're trying to make you feel like it's your fault for the environmental damage caused by others. Way to miss the mark there. What do you do in the game? It's a garbage mobile app, you tap away at your iPhone screen and wonder why you spent thousands of dollars on a gaming rig when you could have just bought a smartphone. You all have phones, don't you? The graphics aren't great. That's understandably be turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. If I want to play a mobile game, I use my phone - not a PC. Collecting resources by clicking after every turn is just an annoyance. But a huge NO are microtransactions - you either publish your game for free or ask for a payment. But asking for money to play when you advertise yourself as a free game: F* YOU.2 found this helpful
Pretty cool game for raising awareness on water issues. It's entertaining and can provide quite the challenge I believe. The story mode is very comfortable and you do get to learn quite a bit ! A shame it doesnt have longer videos presenting the technologies but it's enjoyable so I highly recommend it if you have a few hours to spare !1 found this helpful
Recommended for casual city management fans. I found this to be an decent edu-tainment style game. You get to manage the last city on Earth with a neat time travel twist. The graphics are great, it has an important theme, variety of random events, and is free. On the bad side, it's really easy, very short, lacks a proper save, and oddly enough has microtransactions (but you don't need them). If you like little management games, it's definitely worth a try.
