WILDKEEPERS RISING, is a very chaotic survivors-like where every mechanics clashes with one another. Every session on this game felt frustrating, whether it be the Luigi physics having you retain most momentum from moving, and having to accelerate up to speed, or the incredibly tanking mobs at higher difficulties that feel impossible to kill even with all meta upgrades, and a solid understanding on how to powerscale in these types of games. The concept and lore is actually really unique but the gameplay absolutely lets it down. Instead of you becoming the weapon, you upgrade your beasts to damage and move on their own. Which leads to many many scenarios where they ditch you do die and do their own thing in another corner of the map. The gear and meta upgrade system also feel quite unrewarding, especially for what you have to sacrifice to get the currency to level them. On top of all that, the hitboxes and visual clarity are horrendous with enemies damaging you from so far away. PROS: - Unique gameplay - Lots of areas to build and minimax - Great beast diversity CONS: - Extremely frustrating - Ice movememt ph…

I LOVE this game! I came across Wildkeepers via a bundle it's currently in. I was so intrigued by the art style and when I saw it was a survivors-like I decided to try it out and I don't regret it. The gameplay is like that of Vampire Survivors except instead of one character getting all the upgrades for different weapons and spells you have five characters for each run; One 'Wildkeeper' who you choose before the run and four guardians which are selected during the run and each have their own unique attacks and abilities. There are four different areas to progress through where you acquire new Wildkeepers and guardians. There is about 6-8 hours of gameplay to finish the main progression of the game. If you want to then continue to upgrade armor and max out abilities & sigils and 100% achievements (which offer rewards in game) there is yet more incentive to replay the same areas. I do wish that there were more missions and that the story was a little more in depth but these are minor criticisms and have not prevented any enjoyment of the game. Overall, I highly recommend this game, especially if you're looking for a new survivors-like to play. I adore the art, character design …

I had so much fun with this game! I love the idea of using pets as part of the upgrade process! You level them up with roguelike choices just as you would your character, so you can build your team all at once. You can also gear up individual summons or gear all of them at once! Super great design, very satisfying, pretty hard on challenging had to stick to casual for the first act completion. Highly recommended, great gem

This game has a huge structural flaw and it will probably never be worth it as long as its true. The pokemon you catch that are your weapons can die they come back to life but they have a not insignifigant cooldown/death timer. So as the difficulty of the game ramps up on the stage and your animals run around and die you become weaker. Idk that just really makes it feel like a slog.

This was my first foray into this type of game and now I'm a big fan of them. I can see why they are addicting as you're always trying to build yourself into a God walking. I love that it's a creature collector as I prefer that type when it comes to these games. Great stuff.

A decent mix of a hub-based action RPG and top-down survivors-like gameplay, I'd recommend if you're into survivors-like games and looking for something new. I Like Nipper.
