Windmill Kings

It's not good and not very well designed. The campaign for example lets you pick which level to try next but stages have very specific solutions regarding what units you should build and in what order, so it's pointless. This is because, at least at the beginning, the only way you have to generate money is to kill enemy units so if you mess up your unit order, don't have the unit needed or cast a spell at the incorrect time, you get into a death spiral from which you cannot recover and you either have to try again or pick another stage. THAT in itself has problems because the game has no restart button, you have to quit to main menu and then enter a stage all over again to repeat it so... it ends up becoming a lot of obnoxious trial and error that's not fun or satisfying to play. I understand that the game opens up later but the beginning is such a shoddy example of game design that I don't feel the urge to play more.

It's great concept unfortunatly there are a couple flaws that make this game a no for me. The positive are: great graphics, nice music, funny story. Requirements are low and the game runs well 1v1 on the same keyboard and single player on the touchscreen also works (tested on surface pro) Now the bad: First is the duration. Campaign on normal takes less than an hour. I had a lot of fun working my way up in the campaign but after that you can only play replay the same thing or the Dark world which is brutally hard compare to the normal difficulty. There no replayability unless you do multiplayer. Playing against the computer becomes easy as soon as you realize that the AI is in fact the same pattern of enemy coming your way. I would say you should wait for a sale 1/2 price it will give you a couple hours of gameplay perfect for a short flight.

Another great game by Bigosaur - with their typical art style and sound style. Great cartoon-like graphics with challenging gameplay. This is a 2D strategy game with kings, medieval knights, giants, archers, healers etc. Story mode is cool, as is the skirmish mode that has different scales of battle. PvP is also available. Definitely recommended!

This game is pretty good. The UI could use some work- maybe using number keys to spawn units, instead of clicking on their portraits?- and a tutorial or more descriptive stats for the units would be nice. Other than that, this game makes a neat addition to its genre, and the soundtrack is amazing. I haven't tried the Dark World campaign yet, but I'm looking forward to it. Good game.

Fun little game. Very reminiscent of old flash games like Cartoon Wars. Graphics are simple, but the simple/cartoony aesthetic I think lends well to the kind of gameplay. Information is easily readable, and nothing is confusing. My only real "gripe" is that the audio sliders don't seem to actually work on a percentage value. At 100%, game music is deafening, and it's only really tolerable at about 15%. But that's just a nitpick and doesn't harm the game.
