Horror game in which you explore a haunted house, discover a mysterious book and try to survive terrifying events ✅At times, the atmosphere is very dark in certain places (e.g. the basement), you can feel the tension and unease ✅Two genuinely scary moments ✅The price is acceptable (I wouldn’t pay a dollar more for this game) ❌Empty rooms ❌Poorly executed graphics with low-quality textures (especially the walls and interiors) ❌Poor sound design it’s repetitive, poorly suited to the locations and doesn’t support the horror atmosphere ❌Virtually just one actual puzzle; the rest is exploration and item-finding ❌I don’t like games where we have absolutely no idea what the game expects of us ❌❌ Verdict: [strike] Terrible [/strike] , [b] Bad [/b] , [strike] Mediocre [/strike] , [strike] Decent [/strike] , [strike] Good [/strike] , [strike] Very Good [/strike] (Rating scale for tested game) [quote] If you'd like to see more of my reviews, you can find them on my curator page:[url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45994324/admin/reviews_manage/]CuratorKingViking[/url] and on my group: [url=https://st…

[b] P. S. If you have difficulties in the walktrough, this guide will be very useful: [/b] https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3561496240 [h1] My patience is up – don’t shame Steam, GDNomaD. [/h1] This is the final stop in getting to know the work of maybe the worst 'indie horror' dev on Steam. Wooden House is the pure essence of all the trash GDNomaD has managed to spit out: the classic stupid H-J-K puzzle at the end, tedious key hunting, and notes full of cliches, poorly translated into English by a bot. It looks like the dev tried to make it seem like you could influence the story somehow, but that's a flat-out lie. And the cherry on top—as usual—is a random Easter egg with Kuplinov, thrown in just for hype. The plot here is on the level of a 'first-grader's essay': some guy gets fed up with society and decides to live in an abandoned wooden house. Of course, the basement has two skeletons waiting for him, which make you run around, after flashing a big 'RUN' on the screen — that’s all the imagination they could muster. The graphics are awful and somehow manage to lag even in such simple settings. The only plus is that the creator at least didn’t c…

There is some atmosphere. And that's it. Extremely short, buggy, bad design choices, nonsensical story,... Don't waste your time on this.

Wooden House, developed and published by GDNomaD, is a short first-person indie horror experience that centers on atmosphere, isolation, and creeping supernatural tension. The premise is straightforward: you retreat to a quiet countryside cabin seeking peace and solitude, only for that calm to unravel as strange events begin to unfold within the wooden walls of your new home. It is a game that relies less on complex systems and more on mood, environmental storytelling, and the slow erosion of safety. The opening moments establish a deliberately tranquil tone. The cabin, surrounded by rural stillness and removed from the pressures of urban life, initially feels like a sanctuary. The interior design reinforces this impression, with wooden textures, simple furnishings, and a modest layout that suggests comfort and quiet living. However, as night falls and unexplained sounds echo through the structure, the atmosphere shifts. Creaking floorboards, distant whispers, and unsettling environmental cues begin to chip away at the illusion of safety. The horror in Wooden House grows gradually rather than erupting immediately, encouraging players to absorb the environment and question what is …

"has a few new things compared to the devs previous games but still the same game play." https://youtu.be/uOzrzY99oo0?si=feuz3m08YHn5TK1f
