"World of Mines Creator's Edition" is basically a Minecraft ripoff but with a failed gimmick about using pixelcrap (ugh) to create custom levels. In terms of public reception, it, err, bombed. What do you do in the game? It's Minecraft but with more bugs than mines. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The graphics here are particularly awful, so bad that it actually stands out as one of the worst looking games on Steam. Quite an accomplishment. It's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may…
It's a minesweeper game with nothing new in the way of gameplay, and even the game is badly set up. The most confusing thing is that it's okay to mislabel mines, but if you step on a mine, you're forced to start over. There is also no auto-save feature, not recommended.
It adds more mines when you lose a round, and you start with a 88% chance of losing. This makes it pretty tedious to play.
It's glitchy. Half the time the levels don't load.
