About Z.A.R.
In 2097, the mining of minerals and other natural resources is completely automated and controlled by supercomputers. The planets that are mined for 'Iberium', an essential mineral to control pollution on Earth, are called Z.A.R.; Zones for Artificial Resources. The 'central computer' that controls all of the mining robots is hit by a meteorite and enters a frenzy. It starts building robots with weapons, intent on conquering more planets. A single soldier, Colonel Hermit, is sent to deal with this threat.

Z.A.R. is what happens when a 90s FPS, a tech demo, and a fever dream all jump out of a dropship together. You get huge empty maps, enemies that hit like trucks, ammo that’s always five feet farther than you want it to be, and a jump button that seems actively offended you pressed it. But hey, you can crater the terrain, juggle yourself with rockets, and blow up robots until the voxel dust settles. It’s janky, loud, and gloriously stupid. Decent 90s FPS. Gets repetitive but has great OST and good gameplay
One of the strangest boomer shooters I've ever played from the classic era. Still, it's pretty interesting in its uniqueness, but I'm not entirely sure what I'm supposed to do. This remaster does run smooth and plays great, and at least for me on my modern system, I'm not getting any DOSbox jank.
this game is pretty obscure, but i like it, reminds me a lot of star wars demolition with large open terrain, this game apparently has a story that i dont really care about, in every level you get a briefing thats tied in to the story, which explains the many enemies you encounter along the game then you get dropped in the level with 2 or more weapons, you manuever around large open maps fighting stuff such as robots, mechs and turrets, if you know boomer shooters will you might think this one will have outdated controls, that is not the case, this game was polished a republished by nightdive the best company at restoring classics besides new blood, its very fun
