Definitely an experience, a decent old-school game.

Z.A.R. is a fascinating relic from an era when first-person shooters were still experimenting heavily with scale, movement, and three-dimensional environments. Originally released in 1998, the game was developed by Maddox Games, with its Steam edition published by Nightdive Studios. Rather than simply copying the enclosed corridors and maze-like facilities associated with many shooters of its generation, it sends players across expansive alien landscapes where exploration, vehicular movement, and combat against mechanical enemies form the core experience. Its technology and design have undeniably aged, but its unusual structure gives it a personality that remains interesting decades later. The story takes place in 2097, with Earth depending on automated mining operations established across distant worlds. Humanity requires valuable resources, including a mineral known as Iberium, to help combat severe pollution. These mining worlds are designated Zones for Artificial Resources, which provides the meaning behind the game's title. Decent 90s FPS. Gets repetitive but has great OST and good gameplay

One of the strangest boomer shooters I've ever played from the classic era. Still, it's pretty interesting in its uniqueness, but I'm not entirely sure what I'm supposed to do. This remaster does run smooth and plays great, and at least for me on my modern system, I'm not getting any DOSbox jank.
