Zagu Espionage

this gaem really makes you feel like espionag. the soundtrack slaps I like the guns they go "b01ng b01ng"

[h1] Vocabulary and Misunderstanding [/h1] Yeah, wtf is this? I don't know what to say or how to go about understanding what this game is, and where it came from. For real though, it's very obviously "inspired by" Megaman/Rockman. Like, the music feels like someone really liked both Megaman and Sonic the Hedgehog and tried to combine the sound fonts of both games to make an extremely butt-rocky soundtrack. The game-play also is a side-scrolling shooter, more like Rockman than Contra. I have a couple of issues with this game: it's incredibly clunky, the frame-rate drops like rain in random spots due to under-optimization, and the artwork looks terrible but bigger than all of that is the word Espionage. There are no sneaking mechanics, there are no sound level warnings, you can't get caught and a mission failed, and weapons hot is a term used lightly, apparently. I'd say that this game just needs to have a name change, [b] maybe call it Zagu Open Fire[/b], but that wouldn't fix the rest of the problems.

"Zagu Espionage" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from nonPareil Institute in the US. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Now, a side note here before we judge this as if it was a game made for gamers... nonPareil Institute is a not-for-profit institution with a single, noble mission, to assist post-high school adults with learning/mental disabilities to get life and job skills. This is absolutely commendable and applaudable. And it's great the students were able to make a game (and I think I should point out with as many games reviewed as I have, this game is higher quality than many thousands of amateur games on Steam). I dont know why any sane person would play this game. Graphics are awful and gameplay is janky, I wont stay here talking about the flaws, because I have other things to do. Seemed like a fast made game by some student, at the very least its free.
