✦ AI summary

Pistol Whip is widely praised as one of the best VR games available, with players highlighting its excellent gunplay mechanics, generous customization options through modifiers, and compelling rhythm-action gameplay that keeps them engaged. The game earns consistent recommendations for its accessibility to all skill levels and its active development with ongoing updates years after release, though some note potential motion sickness concerns. Players suggest it's worth buying, particularly if you enjoy VR rhythm games or action-packed experiences reminiscent of the John Wick films.

No longer functions in 2026 with meta headsets. Controllers will stop being recognized before you can finish a single track. Other games work fine for hours.

ISSUE: Black Screen on Launch Our developers are aware of and actively investigating an issue where users encounter a black screen when launching Pistol Whip. Rest assured we are hard at work on this. In the meantime, some users have found playing Pistol Whip offline as a successful workaround. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR 4 YEARS!!!

I used to play this from my friend's library when it first came out but I never bought it for myself. I had a lot of fun with it, but I've never been too into rhythm games so I never bought it. I think I stopped playing right around the first big update that added 3 new songs, or the story line, I can't remember. Regardless, I saw it was on sale so I decided to get it because I'm fatter now, and this gets me moving a bit more than other games, and it's so much fun. I've seen other reviews saying it's hard to keep rhythm even with the metronome feature, and I will say that's fair, but at the same time, I don't think it really takes away from the game, unless you're trying to top the leaderboards. Everything else about the game is great. It would be fun if they added rifles at some point, but honestly it's called "pistol whip", so whatever.
