Good enough, especially for this price. The downsides: Very rigid camera, i don't like those, but it's not a deal-breaker Game is very prone to crashing if i pause during auto-advanced talk, but i just don't pause during those sections anymore

I always appreciate when a racing game is brave enough to focus on a story. It was a fun time! Especially for a solo dev project. You swap cars roughly every chapter of the game, sometimes even more frequently than that, and they all feel pretty different from each other. It isn't a gradual increase over time either, you get a hypercar in just the 2nd chapter but then you'll be in a car struggling to reach 200 km/h near the end of the game. Rather than a progression of cars, it's more that the cars and biomes play together in synergy with a new feeling each chapter. It's also not a roguelike, the name kinda threw me off there but not a big deal, it's actually a visual novel with racing gameplay. The story is good, not perfect, there's plenty I could nit-pick about it, but I did like the lead characters plenty and wanted to see their journey through. Most of the side characters they cross paths with are fun, even if the more villainous ones are lacking in development and like, answers to anything. Its not so egregious that I'm going to turn my nose up and press skip every cutscene however. The other half of the game is the racing, and oofies it's a mixed bag, even if it is 90% p…
Indie NFS The Run but even more Funny Bad... and I respect that
Good: You get to drive a lot of cars. The sense of speed is surprisingly great especially when using Nos. The Time ability while yes straight up lifted from MW05 is still fun to use. Soundtrack is okay albeit a bit forgettable. The Story is actually not that bad, I liked the characters and their motivations. The character designs are great. For some reason the game locks in right at in the final two chapters The cops look like they arrived from Rockport and it makes the chase races the best and funniest part of the game. Mixed: The Handling is something a Racing Game lives or dies on, this is probably the most mixed I've been on a handling mode. It takes the NFS The Run approach which I'm personally a fan of, but it somehow is even slippier however when you get accustomed to it, it actually becomes decent but still not good. The bad: Most tracks were flat as a board. The story abruptly ends with no fanfare. There's no auto reset when crashing for some reason. The navigation during races is not that good. The bloom during that one part of the desert was just abhorrent. Some of the villains are flat as…

The game wants to offer a lot: a long ride through a large continent with different biomes (Hello, NFS The Run), Police Chases, Time Trials, Races against AI, Checkpoint Races (find yourself a way to the Checkpoint) and an interesting Story. I finished the game after 5 1/2 hours and here is my personal opinion:
Cons
- it lacks variety in track design (while there are different biomes, which i really like, the tracks themself feel most of the time very similar to each other) - The visibility when driving is awful. You can't see where the road leads most of the time even on bright daylight. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3805425976 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3805425756 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3805425525 - The track designs are feeling very unfinished. There are no POIs, nothing interesting to see which stays in your mind. Only sometimes a lonely traffic sign. It feels like the maps are still in an very early design stage. - The physics, especially when getting slammed by the AI, is god awful. You often have to reset the car to drive again. - The driving physics at higher speeds are a) overre…

NEEDS OPTIMIZATION!! I haven't played much and my computer is a few years old with the recommended specs, but the optimization is not good for the graphical fidelity on display. game feels ok but it's hard to tell with the poor optimization and slow frame rate. could definitely recommend if it gets better optimization soon.
