Wasteland 2: Director's Cut (2015)

Never played the OG Wasteland, or non-Director's Cut of Wasteland 2. From what I read, the original release of W2 was very poorly balanced and with worse graphics. For example, energy weapons did much more damage to people in armor. 'Cooking them inside it' was the rationale. This made all armor so detrimental that it was better not to wear any at all. Director's Cut isn't that balanced either, to be honest, and beautiful it is not. In DC it's only heavy armor that is affected by this weird trait and graphically it's poor for a 2014 game. It reminds me of Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel on PS2, which is not a favorable comparison. Wasteland 2 uses a variation of Fallout's SPECIAL system, CLASSIC. In OG Fallout's it's flawed, as Charisma is a dump stat (a stat which isn't useful and it's better to drop it to 1 and redistribute those points on something else) while Intelligence and Agility are be all end all. Wasteland 2 has 2 dump stats: Luck, which doesn't do much, and Charisma, which is decent only in a single specific character build. played this after beating wasteland 3. what an incredible game. the quests are fantastic, and everything in this game is so interconnected that its staggering. characters are awesome, the villians are great, and the combat makes you use your brain. Also, its a hell of a lot better than wasteland 3.

Still good cRPG, despite lacking in many aspect in comparison to Wasteland 3

Can’t believe I waited twelve years to play this gem. Worth full price, but the sales this goes are are good. If you arent in a hurry, this trilogy is worth it. Or at least 2 and 3 are. If more games let you just have fun like this, we'd be in the golden age of gaming. To give some fair criticism, The game has some stats that just don't matter. might be best to look into useless or otherwise hyper niche perks/skills ect. before starting a Run. The game does punish you a lot for not planning out your builds before hand. Best to min/max

Cool game. I liked the combat and how different skills are shared by the team. But the speech checks were unsatisfying.
