About Draco and the Seven Scales

Take on the role of a pirate captain as he sets sail to save his greatest treasure of all. Draco and the Seven Scales is a retro-inspired adventure that hearkens back to an age of top-down dungeon crawlers and lovable, crunchy pixel art. Melodic shanties will guide your way through this sprawling world full of dangerous enemies, items to collect, and a dark force that seeks to corrupt. Will you break free from a kraken's dooming bargain, or be another victim?

EXPLORE BY LAND AND SEA

Switch between traveling on foot and sailing your ship to discover all the secrets of an expansive overworld. There are variable paths through the seven seas, and with each route you’ll discover new dungeons, items, and challenging puzzles that will require interacting with the world in both forms.

DEFEAT FEARSOME BOSSES

In each dungeon, mighty foes will test your skills in combat through dynamic battles over land and sea. Show off your mastery in epic battles against the Great Macaw of Paradise, your rival Captain Henny, Her Majesty's Royal Armada, and more!

MEET THE LOCALS

Along your journey you’ll encounter quirky characters with their own stories to tell. Take a moment to chat. Some may ask for your assistance, with the promise of treasure as a reward.

A neat zelda throwback that also has it's own ideas. I wish I had more buttons, though

A fresh and creative take on the classic top-down Zelda formula. Lots of great puzzles, adventure and humor!

[10/10] ★★★★★ Draco and the Seven Scales is worth the full price. This game is genuinely a hidden gem and executes everything I've wanted from a Zelda-like Gameboy game nearly perfectly. It's a very simple game that doesn't punch above its weight, but everything done within its scope is amazing. The soundtrack is amazing, the gameplay is snappy and fun with cool puzzles, the dungeons are all unique and cool with memorable boss fights, the story is easy to follow but very charming with cute characters, the ship mechanic is really cool and fun to use in the world, I could go on for a while. My only complaint is that the combat is pretty easy, and while the bosses have a lot of sauce they're usually pretty quick to rush down, so keep that in mind for anyone who is looking for a harder experience (you get an abundance of hearts in this game). LOVE this game, I'm so excited to see what they do next, and it's crazy to see how little reviews it has, I'll be recommending it to just about anyone who would love a good homage to old Gameboy Zelda-likes.

Fun, simple and hilariously creative and positively dorky game. Just overall a feel good retro game. If you have any nostalgia for gameboy Zelda games, this will be fun for you. It is not very challenging, both puzzles and bosses could have a little more oomph at times. But I had a great time.

I really enjoyed the game!

Came to me at a very pirate and retro gaming time of my life - makes me think of my childhood of watching Muppet treasure island while playing Link's awakening on my gameboy - good times, past and present. I was able to beat the whole game without a guide, and that made it feel like a well earned accomplishment. 10/10 - A masterpiece of an Indy game that old-school Zelda fans would be amiss to sleep on, well worth the $16 asking price.
