About Curse of the Corsair
Echoes of a swashbuckling and treacherous past reverberate through a vast and untamed sea, brimming with riches and danger. In this action-packed adventure RPG, you'll set sail on a journey inspired by the modern classic Hyper Light Drifter, but with a salty, scurvy twist.
As a pirate in search of lost treasures and hidden knowledge, you'll explore a world full of danger and wonder. But beware: your character is plagued by a debilitating curse, driving you ever deeper into the mysterious depths of the ocean in search of a cure for the curse of the Corsair.
• With everything from characters to environments rendered in lovingly hand-drawn animations, you'll be fully immersed in a vibrant and dangerous pirate world.
• Slice and dice by getting up close and personal with melee combat or engage from afar with ranged weapons, it's up to you!
• The challenges you'll face are daunting and plentiful; enemies are ruthless, the environment can be unforgiving, and true allies are few and far between.
• Discover new weapons, learn unique skills, and uncover valuable equipment as you navigate through a detailed and branching world full of secrets and hidden paths.
Set sail for adventure and discover the untold riches and ancient secrets that await you in this epic pirate RPG!

My Experience I tend to enjoy ARPGs and top-down games (I like how much information they typically give the player), so trying Curse of the Corsair was a no-brainer, especially since it was free. Unfortunately, I bounced off of it rather quickly. Although the hand-drawn animations are impressive, they're also a bit stilted. Neither movement nor combat felt good to me, and the dash (praised by a few other reviewers) felt imprecise. My shots and slashes didn't feel like they had any kind of visceral impact, and I found it challenging to dodge the awkward enemy attacks. I decided to quit and play something else after wandering down one of many non-descript, indistinguishable paths, and dying. The "branching world full of secrets and hidden paths" described by developer WolverineSoft Studio can make it a bit hard to figure out where you're going. Just because a game is free doesn't mean that you can't wish for more from it. I played a number of free games this year that I could recommend - most similar to this is SkyIsland, developed by a group of college students that call themselves Team.Olympus.2 found this helpful
Game is "meh" at best. Tutorial was ok, about the only thing it explained was the switches and the guns ammunition. Earned the achievement for the Ancient Temple just by entering and leaving, Like what did I do? The Viking fight in the Pirate stronghold bugged on me when I died, the combat walls were still up, I was able to dash glitch into the arena and just beat on the viking boss without him moving at all, but since the fight bugged, I was not able to get the spear at the end. In the process of advancing through the Pirate Stronghold I ended up with 5 keys by recollecting the same one after dying, that does not seem intentional. I did like the voice ragging on me for dying and dashing off into the middle of the water, which also triggered when I dashed down the stairs on the boats. Overall, if there was just a little more direction, like a simple quest objective of hit the switches to get to the boss, and defeat the boss, Id probably go back and try to complete the game. But as it stands now, its just wonder around aimlessly and hope you are achieveing something.

Its free and its clunky. Nice pirate vibe tho. Cant complain when its free. Good job dev
Meh...
This was a very fun game that has it's roots in hyper light drifter. the combat is fast paced and it's really easy to break the game if you want to. Overall, I would very much reccomend it.
