Polarity is a neat little puzzle game with a clever mechanic. The levels start off pretty easy, but they gradually require more thought and experimentation. I liked the feeling of finally solving a puzzle after being stuck for a few minutes. The game doesn't bombard you with unnecessary story or complicated systems either—it mostly lets the puzzles speak for themselves. It's not perfect, and the presentation is pretty minimal, but I had fun with it. Enjoy :)

And that is probably the exact scenario where I'd recommend Polarity over Portal. I genuinely didn't want to give this game a negative review. Polarity isn't actually a terrible game. The red/blue polarity mechanic is interesting, the puzzles are fun even if they're fairly easy, and the single-player achievements work. For a cheap little Portal-inspired puzzle game, I was having a surprisingly decent time. Then I discovered the co-op achievements. Want 100% achievements? Great! Hope you own a controller. Got a controller? Excellent! Now find another person willing to play Polarity with you. Don't have another player? Well, congratulations—you can apparently become Player 1 and Player 2 and discover talents you never knew you had. The game only has local/shared-screen co-op, and achievement progression requires completing that content. It's pretty old but light and relaxing.

Every game has many aspects - story, graphics, music, controls, level design. Not a single one clicked for me. And the jump seems to fail for some reason when it's least convenient.
