Buy it only if you want to play TMOne Bay or some of multi-env title packs, definitely not at a full price. The base game doesn't offer any active experience other than MX Lagoon Cup and competing against static campaign rankings, which isn't worth it only for this purpose. The biggest sale is still 50%, so that's the best bet to pick. Trackmania Turbo is a better altenative if you really want to try the environment out. The car is very tasteful and definitely weird to pick at first, so be prepared for that.

Even though driving this car drifts away from the usual driving that Trackmania delivers, for some reason, driving this car just seems fun and enjoyable. I would definitely appreciate it if more players played this game because it’s definitely much better than it seems at first. Also, I would recommend playing with a joystick or wheel due to the smooth steering, but you can also set good times with a keyboard.

Trackmania² Lagoon is an arcade racer that treats the racetrack less like a traditional motorsport circuit and more like an enormous playground designed around speed, experimentation, and precision. Developed by Nadeo and published by Ubisoft, it takes the familiar time-focused Trackmania formula to a tropical environment filled with elevated roads, beaches, water, steep drops, loops, jumps, narrow passages, and sudden surface changes. The result is a racing game where learning how a course behaves can be just as important as having quick reactions. The controls are immediately understandable, but mastering the handling takes considerably longer. Lagoon constantly asks the player to deal with different surfaces, each affecting the car in noticeable ways. High-speed asphalt sections can reward confident steering and carefully planned racing lines, while wooden surfaces are more slippery and demand greater restraint. Beach and off-road areas introduce further changes in traction. Because tracks frequently combine these surfaces within a single run, maintaining momentum depends on anticipating what comes next rather than simply holding the accelerator and reacting at the last moment.…
