✦ AI summary

Draugen features stunning Scandinavian scenery and a compelling mystery setup with excellent art direction and music composition, but the story fumbles its ending with confusing plot developments and what players describe as a poorly telegraphed twist that undermines the narrative. Opinion is sharply divided on whether the experience is worthwhile, with some finding it an engaging exploration of family tragedy while others feel it's an unfinished, confusing mess that doesn't justify its short playtime, particularly when compared to similar narrative games.

What starts off as a really promising and intriguing mystery soon devolves into a baffling weird (and not in a good way) mess of an ending. Truly strange and bizarre but, once more, and I cannot stress this enough, not in a good way. Truly a game that well have you staring at your monitor wondering just...why? However, I do have to appreciate the wonderful art directions as well as Simon Poole's wonderful music composition skills. Oh and I have to admit I kinda love the goofy introduction of Lissie's 1920's American slang. Every time she calls Edward "old sport" I get flashbacks to high school English.

A pretty game but, while I normally enjoy art games like this, the twist is very predictable and the plot just becomes confusing, introducing a being that isn't predicated anywhere elsewhere in the story, which leaves the whole thing a bit of a mess... I feel like something got messed up somewhere in the writing or in the translation of this game, I dunno...

This is not a game. Maybe demo, at best. It is unfinished, abruptly abandoned product and it is painfully obvious. Plus, there's a kid character you have to babysit around. There's no excuse for that.

Absolutely breathtaking scenery as it is in Norway. Gameplay was flawless and I didn't want it to end. Story was very well done and the immersion was on point! You won't be disappointed. Fantastic work devs!

Games like this are either hit or miss, "What remains of Edith Finch" is a hit, this was a miss. The only lovely thing here is Alice.
