About Professor Why™: The Quantum Eye

The beginning

More than 470 light years from Earth, revolving around a red dwarf, there is a planet called Kepler 438b. Having the highest Earth Similarity Index (ESI) it became the destination of numerous scientific expeditions. In time, a base, under the name Muta, was founded on the planet’s surface, which turned into the largest facility researching Artificial Intelligence. This station was the objective of an expedition led by Professor Why, who, along with his crew of researchers, over 30 years ago designed there the basics of processing unit architecture. That resulted in creation of the supercomputer – CORE, which supported the exploration of Kepler 438b and supervised the other robots. It was also responsible for the communication with planet Earth.

Then something unexpected happened…

Along with the development of CORE’s AI the communication with Professor Why’s crew began to gradually lessen and finally stopped. No one really knows what happened in Muta, what did the researchers found or whether CORE was involved in their disappearance… Nevertheless, there is a chance to find out the truth. There is one rebel that rose in opposition to CORE, and broke the code – it is PW-36X. Although we managed to successfully establish a communication link with it, a rescue mission on Kepler 438b is still necessary. You were chosen to perform this task.

Your mission

What will you find there? What happened to the professor and his crew? Has CORE’s AI transformed into a civilization and eliminated human beings? To find answers to these questions you have to infiltrate the system created by the one who’s called CORE.

Each level is a challenge – play, think and put an end to machine domination!

Professor Why™: The Quantum Eye is a brand new product in the series of games Professor Why™. Improved graphics, advanced 3D effects or gripping plot are just some of the changes which were implemented in the game since the launch of the first title Professor Why™ Chemistry. There are even more improvements: more dialogues, more action, simply more fun! The player is given the mission to pass through all levels of the logic puzzles prepared by the Quantum Eye. It is a robot with Artificial Intelligence which has been infected and therefore it tries to hold the player back from solving the mysteries. The player needs to prove its cleverness and ingenuity and use all of its knowledge to stop the machine domination.

NOTE - This game has been provided to me for free for review purposes.

EARLY ACCES - Note this review may change over time as features are added or improved. Please read the end notes.
Overview
Professor Why: The Quantum Eye is a child friendly game in which you play as a lab assistant trying to prove himself to a GLaDOS inspired AI named the Eye. You have to successfully perform basic physics experiments that demonstrate basic concepts such as air dilatation to more uncommon ones, such as superconductors. While doing so, you also help the Professor 3D print his hand, so you can exit the bio-metric door to your freedom.
The Pros:

Interesting to Learn - As this is mainly a tool for teaching, it does a good job. The experiments are different enough to not bore you, and the discovery process is natural. You also get hints from time to time if you are stuck or get positive feedback once you've done correct steps.
Great Humor - I've mentioned the similarity between the Eye and Portal's GLaDOS, but it works well here. You play while being watched by the Eye and prof. Why, playing bad cop…

The idea of making a puzzle game like this is briliant. It can teach some basics of chemistry and physics while having fun. But there are many things that need to be worekd on. In my opinion the main table should be a bit bigger or system of dragging items should be diffrent cuz its very easy to accidentaly crash items or toss them off the table. Also camera its being very uncomfortable to control. While trying to look at items from diffrent angel the camera should flow with the movement of your mouse but in this game it does not. Also there are still many bugs like you cant drag an object or the level aint finished after u did everything you should do. This game has a potential to be a great puzzle, brain training game but it definitely has lots of things to be improved but thats pretty normal for games in early acces state. I would reccomend this game for people who like puzzle games and have patiency to do things slowly. If you aint that person you will only have a mess on your table.

It's a good game, but it was never finished. From the looks of it the game will stay that way. There isn't much in the game so don't bother with it.

Well, let's see how it develops. It's not a finished product, but I like the direction it is heading. Fooling around in your private lab is always fun. Maybe some more challenges, some different levels. Camera movement has to be fine tuned for sure.

I think that some people’s opinions may be misleading because many people expect games to be a specific genre - but this one is different. It’s not just a logic or puzzle game, it’s not educational… It’s a mix of a few genres so it’s a very interesting case definitely worth trying!
