Abandoned for decades, crew MIA, the ICARUS.1's job was to store mined minerals from the systems outlying planets and perform research duties. Orbiting the local sun to maintain it's solar energy and live up to its namesake, it provided a lucrative business for JME corp.

After contact was lost no rescue attempt was ever made with the stricken station, instead the project was mothballed along with its precious cargo - a cover up some may say.

Many stories about what happened have become lore but Sam isn't focusing on these 'stories', the goal is the cargo and the wealth it will bring.

Short game but with great atmosphere. Play at night withought lights to get the full "alone in the spaceship" vibe!

Better than some of the more recent reviews suggest. Icarus 1 is a walking simulator with some light puzzle/platforming elements. Very light. What it does achieve is absolutely nailing the atmosphere of boarding a derelict ship to find out what went wrong and why. There are a few negatives pointed out in the last reviews that I want to address. 1: Bugs. I encountered none in my playthrough. 2. The voice acting. The choices for the voice acting are explained as you discover the story. It isn't that one voice is badly done and the other isn't. 3. The darkness. Yes, levels are dark. Purposefully so. Frankly, that's what makes the atmosphere great. 4. The length. The five levels are short so that once you know what you are doing, you can run through them in a couple of minutes to pick up any achievements you may have missed. However playing through them the first time, they will take you a good while to explore. Now there are two negatives that people might find: 1. the puzzling is generally trying to find objects needed to progress in dark places. However the objects are never actually in the dark places and a thorough search will usually turn things up. Only once or twice was I l…

Sorry, gotta give this a no-go. I bought it a long time ago and had in my inventory. Decided to give it a try. I enjoy first person, atmospheric, exploration stuff. I got through chapter one ok. The environment is very dark, often walking into corners because it was so dark I couldn't tell if anything was there. Experience I had is mostly linear exploration of an abandoned ship/station, and running around clicking lots of things without knowing why, to find what was interactable to open doors, find tools, click buttons, turn on systems, etc to enable advancement. Sometimes the game locks you in area to let you know the pieces of the puzzle are there so you don't go wandering away, but it's also an indication that you may not be aware what you're looking for. Just keep looking around. The layout of ship/station really didn't make sense to me - it was huge, spread out, with long halls so I didn't have a proper sense of space. I stopped/abandoned at chapter 2 because I could not make a platforming leap that was required to advance the story. It's ok. Encouraged me to move on to something else.

Painfully primitive and bugged.

interactable objects do not stand out at all and that leads to mouseovering and clicking through every object in the environment style of gameplay.
