About The Padre

Unravel the mystery of a missing cardinal by solving the riddle of a demonic power you did not expect to come upon. Face your inner demons and fight the power of evil while it seduces your soul. Play as the wittiest, pop-culture referencing priest in video game history and face an ultimate game over, if you make the angels cry you a river.

The Padre is a retro stylised 3D horror adventure game tapping deep into the roots of classic horror games. The dark and striking atmosphere is often cut by the wicked humour of the always witty Padre. You will need to use your brains to solve challenging puzzles, as well as your brawns to fend off monsters, all at the same time while you try to unravel the mysteries of the mansion, yourself and the eternal fight between good and evil. Be wary though, if you fail enough times it’s a permanent GAME OVER for you!

Very glitchy with poor controls. Had to restart several times because of the character getting stuck. The combat is extremely clunky, it would be better with combat completely removed and just being a walking simulator.

This game epitomizes a hidden gem in the gaming world. I thoroughly enjoyed it, as it is exceptionally crafted. Its design pays homage to the original Alone in the Dark titles, making it a truly enjoyable experience. While there are several challenges and moments of trial and error that may lead to your character's demise, I believe most of my failures were due to my own decisions. Some deaths can be attributed to the controls, which is understandable given that this is a point-and-click game. Overall, I encountered no significant issues. This game is genuinely worth playing, and I only wish it received more recognition, as it certainly deserves it. The Padre is a retro-styled 3D horror adventure that delves deep into the essence of classic horror gaming. The dark and captivating atmosphere is frequently lightened by the clever humor of the ever-witty Padre. Players must engage their intellect to solve intricate puzzles while also using their strength to combat monsters, all while uncovering the mysteries of the mansion and the ongoing battle between good and evil. However, be cautious; if you fail too many times, it results in a permanent GAME OVER.

Awful K&M controls, clunky movement and interactions, not at all obvious solutions, I had to look up a walktrough to progress. Also apparently there's a permadeath system, you lose all progress when you die too many times. Also also there's an unkillable enemy that once aggros it blocks your way indefinitely, refuses to move, locks all the doors and instakills you if you touch it so that's nice. And no, I don't have 0.1 hours on this game, I got 1.5hrs, it's just Steam being stupid.

I knew well that these golden glasses were going to be usefull !! Very interesting, waiting for next steps 💪 (Playing on PC : just, why not putting a button to activate the use of weapons ? melee fighting is a mess because of this "clicking precisely on the target")

The Padre, developed by Shotgun with Glitters and published by Feardemic, is a survival-horror adventure that blends retro design sensibilities with a distinctive voxel-based aesthetic and dark humor. Positioned as a modern homage to classic survival horror titles, the game combines exploration, puzzle-solving, and deliberate combat pacing within a compact but atmospheric setting. Its identity is shaped as much by its stylized visuals and sarcastic protagonist as by its commitment to old-school mechanics. The story centers on a mysterious priest known simply as the Padre, who travels to investigate the disappearance of a cardinal within a sprawling, ominous mansion. The narrative unfolds gradually through environmental storytelling, notes, and character encounters. Rather than presenting a straightforward horror plot, the game balances ominous supernatural themes with the Padre’s sardonic commentary. His constant quips and wry observations create an unusual tonal mix, oscillating between tension and irreverent humor. Visually, The Padre stands apart due to its voxel art style. Characters and environments are constructed from blocky, stylized forms that evoke retro 3D design while…
