This was the first game I made in one week during 2009. Inspired by old horror games such as Last Half of Darkness and Uninvited. Created as a small passion project. Cursed 2 was finished in 2019, and now Cursed 3 is being developed in 2022.

Cursed 1 is a neat, short experience. It's the first entry in an incredibly good trilogy, but we're not judging it based on future games. As a standalone game, it's fine. The game is a very basic point and click adventure game with some light action combat and survival horror elements sprinkled in. Your goal is to solve a few specific puzzles and try to rescue a girl who has been lost in the mines. Most of the puzzles boil down to needing a specific item from a specific area to do something in particular; there's no inventory juggling, other than a few temporary use spell scrolls. While you do this, you will occasionally be accosted by endlessly spawning monsters, which force you into a small 1v1 combat. Again, very basic. You can attack, and shield. There's a large amount of mostly intentional lag when attacking and defending, so getting "good" at the combat mostly boils down to being patient and learning to play proactively; mashing the attack button will leave you incredibly exposed. Since healing is limited (there's only a few water pools and healing scrolls in the entire game, none of which respawn), there's an aspect of resource management, but it's entirely feasible to per…

Cursed is a psychological horror game that focuses heavily on atmosphere, emotional tension, and unsettling exploration rather than relying entirely on cheap scares or nonstop action. From the moment the experience begins, the game establishes an oppressive mood filled with uncertainty and dread, slowly pulling players into a nightmare where reality feels unstable and danger constantly lingers just out of sight. Instead of overwhelming players with constant monsters or loud horror sequences, the game takes a slower and more methodical approach, allowing fear to build naturally through environmental storytelling and psychological discomfort. The story places players inside a mysterious and disturbing situation connected to a supernatural curse that has corrupted both people and places. As players explore abandoned environments and increasingly twisted locations, fragments of the narrative slowly emerge through notes, visual clues, and disturbing encounters. The storytelling avoids giving immediate explanations, forcing players to piece together events themselves while constantly questioning what is truly happening. This fragmented narrative style helps maintain suspense because the…
