About The Spy Who Shrunk Me

OVERVIEW

THE SPY WHO SHRUNK ME is a stealth game where you are a superspy armed with a shrink ray! It's 1981. Sneak onto a train inbound to Moscow and infiltrate a software company that harbors grave secrets bound to turn the Cold War into a very hot one. Armed with banana peels, airbag mines and the capability to shrink enemies and drop them in toilets and paper shredders, you are the only one standing between the dreaded General Bolscotchkovich and his Soviet army.

The Spy Who Shrunk Me is inspired by Ant-Man & Austin Powers while being a gigantic love letter to the legendary No One Lives Forever series of games.

AN EPIC STEALTH ESCAPADE

  • 🕵 Be agent AUDREY SMOOTHSPY, the only agent aloof enough to fight the Soviet army all by herself. Armed with a stolen Soviet shrink ray, an assorted inventory of spy gadgets and some banana peels, you're the only one affordable enough for the job of saving the free world!
  • 👢 Keep the cold war communist regime under your heels (literally) by (also literally) flushing their cronies down the toilet! Manipulate your enemies size using your trusty shrink ray. And when the going gets tough, zip past enemies as a tiny shrunk spy.
  • 👒Audrey's adventure takes you all the way to MOSCOW and BERLIN to find out what a sinister software company office complex is actually hiding within! Sneak aboard a train, defuse a nuke and kidnap a scientist into a purse! Don't get caught or risk getting stomped on!
  • 🎶 A fully voice-acted narrative adventure with multiple endings and music that makes you want to jam Soviets down paper shredders!
  • 🔮 Play your way! Challenge yourself by completing the adventure without killing anyone or without getting detected.

✦ AI summary

The Spy Who Shrunk Me is a campy spy adventure with charm and personality, offering fun puzzle moments and good humor, but it's plagued by significant technical issues that undermine the experience. Players report game-breaking bugs like lost abilities and missing gadgets, poor optimization, lack of control remapping, and frustrating forced platforming sections that many cannot progress past. While the game has merit at its budget price point, the combination of bugs, performance problems, and rigid controls leaves players disappointed rather than entertained.

"The Spy Who Shrunk Me was created by an untalented team comprised of multiple brain dead team members of various states of drunkedness," is the first message you see when launching the game. After playing 20 minutes, I was extremely disappointed to realize that it wasn't a joke. :-/ This is an extremely buggy mess. I lost the ability to crouch less than a minute into the game. I had a showstopping bug in level 2, so I reloaded the last checkpoint (no manual saves), and that caused the gadget I was holding to disappear and I couldn't get it back. Clipping and poor physics are rampant, and some models appear to be unfinished. You can't re-map keys, which I think is an unforgivable sin for any developer. And why is this 20GB?? This game is much smaller and less detailed than NOLF, which was 1GB. This is a total flaming wreck, is virtually unplayable, and shouldn't have been released. It's a shame, because this game has some clever ideas. But they are executed poorly. When you "knock out" an enemy, they stay down for like 2 seconds. Shrinking an enemy and putting them in a trash bin or shredder is a fun concept, but it turns out that dropping a shrunken enemy anywhere at all causes …

its ok, bit expensive for whats here, i couldnt get past the stupid missile platforming section. Stop forcing ppl to platform in first person, especially when we cant look, move, jump, crouch, all at the same time (no controller rebinding) guess ill go try NOLF now

The Spy Who Shrunk Me is an indie stealth adventure that embraces campy spy fiction with full enthusiasm, offering a playful and unconventional take on infiltration. Developed by Catland and co-published with Adjective Animal, it stars Audrey Smoothspy, a hyper-competent secret agent dropped into a Cold War conspiracy involving shadowy corporations, Soviet facilities, and questionable scientific breakthroughs. Rather than trying to mimic serious espionage thrillers, the game leans into humor, pulpy storytelling, exaggerated villains, and over-the-top gadgets. The tone is intentionally lighthearted, aiming more for stylish absurdity than grounded realism, and that commitment gives the experience a sense of personality that many stealth titles lack. At its core, the game plays like a first-person stealth sandbox, but its biggest twist is the shrink ray—an all-purpose tool that completely changes how missions can be approached. Shrinking enemies allows for non-traditional takedowns, whether through environmental traps or simple bypassing, while shrinking yourself opens vents, alternate pathways, and hiding spots that larger characters never notice. Alongside the shrink ray, the arsen…

overall a good game but i will warn it poorly optimized on a 1660 Ti it was using 100% of my gpu even on the lowest setting which looks just about nothing different from ultra. but the game play it self had a lot of fun moments and neat puzzles. for 10 dollars it well worth it.
