About Chaos Control

Chaos Control, a super-production designed entirely on Silicon Graphics, takes you to the heart of a fantastic epic that blends cyberculture, virtual travel and manga graphics. At the controls of a space fighter, your dangerous missions will lead you into a unique spectacle with multiple, fantastic sets in full screen 3D vision.

It's the year 2071. Only one space fighter has the courage, composure and razor-sharp reflexes to eliminate the savage Kesh Rhan Extraterrestrials...ace pilot Jessica Darkhill. As Lieutenant Darkhill, your missions encompass heart-stopping battles in four distinctly different, full-screen synthesized universes. Your destiny - to save EARTH.

First you must liberate Manhattan. If you succeed, enter the core of a virtual reality computer to neutralize a lethal virus. Then soar to outer space to destroy the enemy's well-fortressed flagship. Finally, master a fearsome labyrinth of traps to greet and beat your nemesis, Lord Commander Arakh' Kreen.

• More than 60 minutes of computer-generated animated images.
• Real piloting sensations due to the movements and the non-linear travel of the vessels involved.
• Total immersion into the game enhanced by hyper-realistic sound effects.
• A grandiose sound track consisting of original titles using the stereo effect, CD quality.
• Combat sequence in Manhattan: the island has been entirely recreated in 3D, modeled with 2 million polygons.
• Use of three travel modes: basic model space fighter, virtual mode inside a tank, prototype fighter considered as the ultimate weapon.

Repetitive, easy and boring. Maybe 30 years ago it would be a curiosity, because it does have pretty good graphics and is in 3D, which was rare for a 1995 game, but the gameplay is just meh.

This game is impossible. I will keep trying to win it but I doubt I can surpass lvl 3. Doesn't matter. It brought me hours of joy and nostalgia as it was one of the first PC games I played, when I was 11. This version is exactly as the old game.

n game graphics are NOT at all as good as the CDI version. Textures are dumbed down a LOT. It keeps telling you GOOD SHOT when you shoot nothing... The FMVs are the same, but the death animation does not shut off like a CRT, and the game cuts in weird spots, like randomly on the bridge instead of flying up to the city, (assuming because they wanted to cut the twin towers full of smoking holes out of it or something) But it just, it's lacking. Big time. If you think this is going to be a good representation of what the CDI graphics were, it's not. I will take screen shots from this DOSBOX version, and the CDI version, so you can compare them later. I was super excited to try this on PC, but now I'm just like... That's kinda not what I wanted or expected.

SPACE MULLETS!!!! First off let me mention that the game is probably unbeatable without codes. I used the health code repeatedly and beat the game in under an hour. I really enjoyed it. I've found myself dissapointed in most modern games as they don't respect your time and tend to be all filler and no thriller. So I've been playing older games and I have been plesantly surpised. Chaos Control does the opposite (Unless you bought it on the CD-I. Then you got ripped off. Get it on sale.). You can beat the game rather quickly with codes. The action is fast paced and I like the animations for both the combat annd the cutscenes. Both were advanced for their time and still hold up decently today. Some of the enviroments are very creative and embody that 1990's madness were the stages don't make much sense. I really like the giant computer stage. Also the game is unintentionally hilarious with stupid looking smoke clouds that envelop targets when you hit them instead of explosions. And most of the characters have mullets and no expression when they speak. You only get one weapon but, it requires some skiill to use properly as you can hold it down for rapid fire but, this causes…

https://youtu.be/ec_KZqqb0HM Low fidelity causes this on rails shooter to under deliver in a modern setting regardless of how it may have been received nearly thirty years ago.
