Rez Infinite

Rez is a game that I am familiar with. I still have the PlayStation 2 port that I bought back in the early 2000s. When I first bought it back then and played it, I was wowed unlike any other game. Though the gameplay is simple, the music, visuals, and experience more than made up for it. Not to mention the replay value with other modes. I eventually wishlisted and purchased Rez Infinite, one of the later ports of the game--on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC via Steam, Android, and Oculus Quest. After extensively playing this release, as well as earning all the achievements that this title has, how well does this hold up compared to the Dreamcast original? [h3] The Good: [/h3] + First of all, the PC via Steam port of Rez Infinite is a polished port. It has mouse controls--a feature that was previously exclusive to the Sega Dreamcast original; sharper textures, virtual reality support; if your computer is a monster blocker: 16k maximum resolution; it's Steam Deck verified, which means the Steam port is portable--the only official port to have this distinction. This feels like the ultimate cyberpunk game, lacking pesky meatspace parts. You can play through it in two hours, so the price may be a bit much, also because it is quite old by now. But it is unique, has great soundtracks and if you want to hunt after high scores, it will keep you busy much longer than that. If your day only gave you half an hour of free time, spend it with this game.

It's a good experience even 10 years later.

Me gustó, pero no tanto como esperaba. Conceptualmente es muy interesante pero siento que le falta algo para llegar a ser el gran juego que pudo ser, en mi humilde opinión; tal vez la habilidad de encadenar combos más largos y que ese encadenamiento tuviera un efecto no sólo en la puntuación, sino en la misma ambientación dinámica del juego (escenario y música). Creo que allí estaba la idea, pero no se logra del todo al final. Me falta jugar el área X, sólo jugué los 5 escenarios default. Si la llego a jugar, actualizaré mi reseña. Besos
