Dungeon Lords Steam Edition

Even after all these years, Dungeon Lords remains a unique masterpiece in the RPG genre. The combination of deep character customization, intense real-time combat, and classic dungeon-crawling atmosphere is something modern RPGs rarely replicate. The Steam Edition proved that this game has a timeless soul. To the developers: please know that your fanbase is still here, still playing, and still passionate. The world of Dungeon Lords has so much untapped potential. We don’t just want a remaster—we need Dungeon Lords II. Give us a sequel with modern graphics and the same deep mechanics, and the RPG community will absolutely support it. Please don't let this amazing universe fade away! We are ready for the next adventure.

Dated but good. Reminds me of morrowind and EQ

Recommended if you have nostalgia for this game because you played it as a child. Runs well, played it on Ubuntu 26.04, had 0 crashes during my playthrough. Skill and attribute system might be different than you remember, but it works fine in my opinion. Without nostalgia, it's a game with a rather generic story, serious late game balancing problems (you just stomp everything, even bosses feel trivial), subpar platforming sections. However, if you can accept the obvious flaws this game has, you can have a couple of hours of good fun out of it.

This is worth a mild thumb's down. Positive: It feels like a single-player third-person mmo from the original World of Warcraft era. Lots of exploration, well crafted maps, neat and varied visuals, and a bunch of flavors of races and basic and advanced classes. Great potential, good fun for a while. Negative: There are incredibly irritating bugs that have persisted through multiple patches that nearly break the game. Quest items frequently overspawn and can't be dropped from your inventory or stored anywhere, so if you're not extremely familiar with the game to where you know which ones to not pick up, a solid 20% of your inventory is constantly clogged by these items for quests that have already been completed. This is compounded by the standard RPG experience of collecting too much amazing stuff and therefore needing more inventory, which keeps getting smaller because of these quest items. It is made even worse by the fact that there's no bank or personal chest or anything to that effect, so all items must be stored in your personal inventory.
