Bionic Commando: Rearmed

Right click on Bionic Commando Rearmed in your Steam games list. Hover over manage, then click browse local files. A file explorer window will pop open. Locate bcr.exe in that file explorer window and right click it. Click on properties. Now click on the compatibility tab. Check the box that says "run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select Windows XP Service Pack 3. Click apply. Click the button below that says "change high DPI settings." Check the box that says "Override high DPI scaling behavior." Choose "application" from the dropdown menu. Click okay. Then click apply and okay. The game should now work. Launch it and enjoy.

It is very fun and entertaining gameplay, along with funny dialgogue parts. I saw a lot of reviews complaining about having to set the game up for the pc, but in the end, it is all worth it, as it is a very entertaining and fun game.

I remember when Bionic Commando Rearmed first came out on the PlayStation 3. I bought it right away and absolutely loved the music, the gameplay, and just the overall feel of it. Later, when I switched to PC, I was so excited to see it was available there too. It was the same with the other Bionic Commando game—the one with the dreads. I bought both of them back when they originally released on PS3. Back then, I remember Rearmed being incredibly difficult, and I never managed to beat it. Coming back to it now reminded me why I liked it so much. The controls feel really tight, and the swinging mechanic is still one of the coolest movement systems in any platformer. This was actually the first game I played on my ROG Ally X. Ironically, I could never get it working properly on my desktop PC, even after trying a bunch of tutorials online. The handheld had no issues, so I ended up playing the entire game there. One thing I really like is that this isn’t a Metroidvania. You simply pick a level, beat it, and move on. Every stage feels like its own platforming puzzle, and the bosses are puzzles too. It’s not just about having fast reflexes—you have to figure out each boss’s mechanics b…

Took me a lot of time to barely start it, but there is a different problem - controls are so stiff and awkward, and the game feels too short. Probably the only game in the world where the Game Boy version feels better! I would recommend it but only during big discount. Not worth the full price, that's for sure, especially since it's not optimized properly for newer PCs. And playing on Steam Deck? Forget about it, even with those custom Protons.
