awesome
I've been playing Mega Man 11 since it Launched in 2018, I've beaten the game on PS4, Switch, and Xbox. and i can say without a doubt in my mind it is one of the best 2D platformers in the series, the double gear system is really fun and great for pulling off trick shots and speed running tricks, while the power gear just makes you feel as strong as Guts Man blowing down walls with the powered up chain blast or using the extra layer on the Acid barrier. But the real reason i write this review is all the side content and challenges here that so many seem to leave out! the boss rush and super boss rush is a good challenge. the Medal and time trials really test your knowledge of the levels. and the playground mode has great mini games that i hope reappear in Mega Man Dual Override. I've seen many criticize the games lack of content or replay value then i find they didn't even enter the extra content menu to play the challenges! Despite me not beating the Dr.Light Trial yet i can definitely recommend Mega Man 11 as one of my new Favorites in the entire series! and a perfect spot to jump in the Fight For Ever Lasting Peace!
Genuinely such a HORRIBLE game, literally just play Mighty No. 9 it's 10 times better than this lazy slop. The bosses are stupidly and unfairly hard, there are hundreds of random things that insta kill you, almost every enemy is just bull crap, the movement is stiff and janky, the levels are just disgustingly bad.
Easy to pick up, hard to master, and even harder to put down, this game, despite the generational shift, retains the essence of classic Mega Man games from the NES era. From stages requiring precise jumps and auto-advanced levels to charismatic bosses and their not-so-easy-to-decipher attack patterns, this game keeps you on the edge of your seat, wanting to throw the controller in excitement every time you reach the end of a stage and narrowly defeat the robot boss. A must-have game for everyone's collection.
Fun.
Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it. it's an official Megaman title, but it feels more like a weirdly tuned romhack of a Megaman game despite everything. I couldn't get into it. After a whopping FIVE game overs to a single specific platform that I couldn't simply JUMP ONTO for reasons not yet discovered. [Torch Man's Stage specifically, during the advancing wall of fire.] Losing 15 times to a very specific platform after getting an equal number of game overs trying to beat ANY of the other levels for similar issues feels.... yeah I just personally didn't vibe with this title. Music wasn't memorable or fun, half the levels have an indescribable emptiness to them, and I can't talk about much else as I only cleared one stage before ennui and frustration won out, I just..... yeah nah. I'll concede this time. I simply wasn't having fun by the hour mark. I dunno what it is, but this game doesn't' vibe right with me. It feels.... difficult but in the wrong ways? Issues with landing on platforms, Power Gear doesn't feel very powerful, Speed Gear barely speeds you up [but slows enemies if you need ot hit them, which POWER GEAR WAS SUPPOSED OT SOLVE], and I am officially Not Skilled Enough ot …
