About Sparklite
Sparklite is an action-adventure where you play as Ada, a mechanic fighting to stop a tyrannical Baron from mining your world's life force and corrupting everything around you. Explore five procedurally generated biomes, craft gadgets to solve puzzles and battle bosses, and work with quirky locals to save the planet before it's too late.

Sparklite is an action-adventure set in a whimsical and ever-changing land. Gear up for Adventure and battle foes in top-down action using an arsenal of gadgets, guns, and gear. Explore dangerous corners of the procedurally generated world, take down titans of the mining industry, and harness the power Sparklite!

Everything in the world of Geodia is tied together by Sparklite... it's the life force of the planet, and the inhabitants have learned how to channel it safely. The blue, glowing ore can be harnessed providing a low-level, rechargeable power source. Or, for those brave or greedy enough, it can be consumed for a surge of power with grave consequences. Geodia’s self-titled "Baron" has devised a plot to mine the world’s Sparklite core to meet his own ends. Mining Sparklite in large quantities, the Baron repurposes the ore to fuel his powerful war machines, but the pollution from the consumed Sparklite is corrupting the world. Animals have turned into violent monsters, and the environment is rotting away.

The stricken land of Geodia has a natural defence in its Sparklite core. Periodically, the core causes a Disruption which rearranges the world, setting back the Baron’s efforts. Our heroine, Ada, must stop the Baron before he can obtain the core and gain the power to create a new world in which he has ultimate power. A plucky mechanic, Ada will need to use her cunning and skills to defeat the Baron’s henchmen across five distinct zones. Ada will have to work with Geodia’s weird and wonderful inhabitants if she’s to face the Baron and put paid to his deadly plans before it’s too late.
Our hero, Ada, must travel to each zone of the world to shut down the Baron’s Digsites before it’s too late...

May be the best 2$ purchase I ever made. Awesome pixel art, fun gameplay, and a really fun gameplay loop with Zelda inspirations. This is a quality game, with heart and a wonderful vibe3 found this helpful
This is an absolute steal for the price, I got this on sale for $3.50 AUD. If you are a fan of old school Zelda and pixel art graphics, this one is definitely for you!2 found this helpful
old school game, me likey2 found this helpful
i would give this a kind-of recommend. the art and soundtrack are very pleasant, and the gameplay loop is pretty fun, exploring 5 randomly generated areas and unlocking upgrades along the way. but it just feels like the game could do so much more with what it has. - you can unlock new weapons and tools, but there isn't much use for them outside the dungeon where you first discovered them. - you can unlock upgrades, but they're pretty simple (reduce damage taken, increase total health, increase damage etc), so your playstyle pretty much stays the same throughout the whole game. - the layout of each area is randomly generated, but the placement of where they are in the map stays the same, so area 1 is always in the center of the map, area 2 is always to the south, area 3 is always to the west etc -- they were fun to discover at first, but on subsequent runs it made exploration feel less exciting. also, the areas are all connected to one central area but not to each other, so you have to go all the way back to the center if you want to explore another area. since there's no fast travel and no upgrades to mobility, i found exploring to feel very slow. - i liked the boss fights (exc…
A solid indie pixel art zelda-style action/adventure and roguelite. The game blends the top down action of something like Zelda with random runs and persistent upgrades and vibrant art. When you start a run, you start in the central 'Vinelands' hub biome from which you can access the other four biomes that you have unlocked from it. Each biome has a boss which has to be killed to unlock the ability to access the next biome. On death, you lose temporary consumables found during the run but return with all the meta-resources you've gained during the run which you can use to upgrade NPC and buy/upgrade 'patches' which you can slot into an inventory square to give stat buffs. Combat is fairly simple. You have a short range dash and a wrench for fast melee attacks and a hammer strike by holding down attack. You will unlock blueprints which will allow you to do one-time crafts of passive and active gadgets. Active gadgets use energy to use which you can regain by fighting enemies but, honestly, I found them either meh or impractical personally and use wrench mostly. The world shifts the general layout whenever you die, the biomes are in the same general location each time through a…
If I could, I’d give it a mixed review; the game’s concept and pixel art are really cute, but the game is very grindy, and you rely on upgrades you happen to get. Defense upgrades make the game feel very easy, but for the final boss second phase, you're going to need several damage upgrades.
