The writing just feels so unnatural and disjointed

barely any immersion/choices and a lot of info dumping i couldn't bring myself to care about.

I loved the story and flow of the writing; I'm pumped for the next game in the series.

i just finished my first playthrough and i have to say it’s fairly meh. i always have a hard time with worlds where “adventuring” is regulated and fairly commonplace career path and this was no different. it didn’t really add anything and felt like a shorthand for the reader to recognize the character tropes rather than creating interesting characters. there’s also a fairly bizarre attempts at humor that don’t land for me. things about “elden ring” or one of the characters having a cellphone. maybe it was because i was already frustrated with other aspects of the game, but barely any of it even made me smile. i played as a “Negotiator” and i felt like it didn’t even really matter that much. situations and encounters could easily be covered by companions and there was very little tangible impact being a good speaker had on the game in my experience. romances were fine. pretty default stuff. childhood friend who’s super important, mega horny one, and a sort of generic religious character. again nothing really special or interesting about any of these.

I found the story to be interesting, the romance was there and the world-building was immersive. Between the vivid scenes, I did notice some sections where the pacing dragged a bit. But overall, I'd still recommend it.

Although it is fairly short, it was quite an enjoyable experience. I shall eagerly await the next installment of this story.
