its a short but stunning walking simulator. Beautiful environments, calming music, and reflective narration make it perfect for a contemplative hour, if you love atmospheric stories and exploring gorgeous scenery like me then this is absolutely worth giving a try!

Purpose 1951 is a story-focused exploration game developed and published by Tonguç Bodur that builds its experience around atmosphere, introspection, and emotional storytelling rather than conventional gameplay systems. Set during the early 1950s in America, the game presents a deeply personal journey centered on a retired doctor whose life has reached a painful crossroads. Instead of relying on combat encounters, difficult mechanics, or fast-paced action, Purpose 1951 delivers a slower and more reflective experience that emphasizes narrative immersion and environmental exploration. The foundation of the game revolves around personal struggle and emotional recovery. Players step into the role of a man dealing with the consequences of hardship and disappointment while navigating both physical environments and internal conflict. The narrative focuses heavily on themes of loss, regret, purpose, and rediscovery, creating an experience that feels designed to encourage contemplation rather than adrenaline-driven excitement. Purpose 1951 follows the structure of a walking simulator, a genre that places storytelling and atmosphere above mechanical complexity. Progression occurs primarily…

A decent walking sim by Tonguk Bodur. As usual, you walk along various paths, with the occasional puzzle and collect a story via narrative. If you've played his games before this is not unfamiliar to you. The visuals and music are really good as usual. The story wasn't bad, just not very inspired. i wasn't thrilled with the narrator either. He sounds like he's reading from a script. (OK, OK, I know he WAS reading from a script, but still ...) The one thing I didn't get the purpose of, was the boxes. It seemed to me they could be entirely skipped with no consequence. The interlude in the middle though, that was painfully slow. All told though, It was a good hour spent. And it only cost me $3.89 Can.

If you have some kind of sensitive light problem (Photophobia), don't play this game. the environnement light changes in different lights to give mood and puzzle are blurred of pixels in withe and light color. Let's complain a bit because of how this is making the game unpleasant to play, that I have a high possibly to rise the brightness I must lower it and not too much but otherwise the game becomes pitch black. Those puzzles to change chapters are horrible.

I've played a couple or three Tonguc Bodur games in my day, but Purpose 1951 is more annoying than most. Am I eligible to get a degree in Tonguc Bodur Studies? Anyway, Purpose 1951 is a walking simulator. What I will give the game is that you do walk in it. What I won't give the game is much else. The foliage and animals in the environments aren't very naturalistic. There are caverns lit by torchlight (for those who don't know, Americans invented electric lights, and by 1951 there were plenty of them around). The music is the mopiest piano meandering you've ever heard. The writing is definitely the star of the show, though. It's MEGA bad. The tone, diction, and even the message are all anachronistic, and it just hurts. The voice acting is sappy. But the worst part is the game preaching at you about how bad things were in 1950s America. That was peak America, peak global hegemony, maybe peak civilization, and this game applies every criticism you've ever heard about 21st century American healthcare and society to a time period that the writer clearly knows nothing about. Tone deaf would be an understatement. You think you're done hearing about it, and then the dialogue will start …

Finished the game this morning. Very short game. finished it in 52 munutes. The reason my playtime ays 86 minutes is because I had to start again. Finished the game with 100 percent achievements. Its a great walking simulaotr game. No collectibles as you as you walk around, its just looking at the views. As you walk you get voiceover dialogue about a doctor's life and downfall, as he went from a top docotr to the bottom rung of society. Its a decent game if you like peaceful walking sims. The voiceover dialogue is well done. You have to find the ORBS as you walk around that have words on them to get the achievements. I can recommend this game but don't pay $20 for it like others did. Th negative reviews come from gamers who paid $20 for it. I got it while on special for $3. Worth the $3 as it only takes 45-50 minutes to finish. I enjoyed the walk. Oh, the end is a bit disappointing as it suddenly just cuts short and then short credits roll. I was like..OH IS THAT IT. I felt a little let down by the sudden abrupt end but otherwise its a decent game for $3. Give it a play you might like it .
