About Lucid Cycle

In Lucid Cycle, sleep teleports you into enigmatic or trippy dreams where everything is obvious, yet somehow unexpected.

The game offers a set of short but unique experiences. Tiny bit of puzzles, tiny bit of platforming, and some finding objects... As you progress, you paint a painting during the daylight hours, and the ultimate goal of the game is to see it completed.

Enjoy your journey, one dream at a time.

Save progression: Lucid Cycle saves your progression at the beginning of each dream, and each time you wake up.

Alright. Lucid Cycle is done and dusted. This was a very unique approach from Tonguc as far as how the game is presented while still offering the familiarity of one of his walking simulators, which are some of the best out there. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3240624531 Most notably, the story is both layered and very nuanced. I think the ending tells you what the final message is, but it evolves on the way there. To me, it goes as follows: First, dreams are often very existential and surreal by virtue of their very nature and can be difficult to understand. Second, dreams can have a decipherable meaning and are a reflection of what you're going through in life or in your head. Third, regardless of what your dreams are saying and whether or not your interpretation is correct, they can inspire a person to create. Fourth, sometimes you can put all your energy into your creativity and lose sight of other things that are important in life. And fifth, take a break from creative pursuits every so often and find a balance between that, real life and relationships that allows you to live your life to its fullest. That's what I get from this game'…

4/10 Lucid Cycle is a walking simulator with platformer and puzzle elements. Play as a painter gaining inspiration from their dreams in this surreal and buggy experience. Unenjoyable and frustrating. Lucid Cycle is a set of “unique experiences” through the lens of a dreaming painter. You start asleep, go through two to three dreams in which you may be required to walk, solve puzzles, find hidden objects, or play a platformer, wake up, talk to your AI lamp that’ll overanalyze the dream of your choice, and paint a portion of a singular painting before going back to bed. The concept is interesting and there’s some replayability in doing it over again and choosing the different dialogue option for your lamp. The lamp sometimes provides humor and snark to the player which can be seen as charming but can also feel unrewarding depending on the dialogue option the player chooses. The art and music adds to the surreal experience. The game runs smoothly, up until you start encountering bugs. It took me ~2 hours to complete the game with the singular achievement. The achievement is completed as soon as you open the game and is unmissable. No cards. I did encounter a few bugs, one of which …

this game is super bizarre .. its got surreal landscapes and a weirdly calm feeling you get in dreams where everything makes sense but doesn’t at the same time. I loved the atmosphere; it’s strange, peaceful, and unsettling all at once. Played this, slept, and had the strangest dream ever. Now I’m not even sure if I woke up or if I’m still in the game. 10/10

This was quite the experience. It really did feel like dreams in how bizarre and varied the landscapes and scenarios were. A couple of parts took some time to figure out, but it was all worth it in the end. The cat made the game 1000% better. This was a wonderful experience that was well worth the price. I love how you did the achievement for this one. It's all about the journey and the experience, and I enjoyed the experience.
