Touhou Library Survivors

patchouli knowledge

I didn't review this game when I originally played it, and I'm not quite sure why, because this is one of the most fun "Survivors" games I've played. There's not really much to be said in the way of story, but that's to be expected. A rumor has been spread around Gensokyo that the magician living in the Scarlet Devil Mansion is hiding a special spellbook that grants the user one wish. Weaker Yōkai water at the mouth for an opportunity to gain power, and even some of the stronger residents of the mansion take notice. Pretty cool

It's not bad if you play this game casually, but you're meant to be able to complete this game on Lunatic and EX mode without upgrades. If I had to summarize this game in one word, it's 'selfish.' Not enough mechanics and player choice for what it asks of you. Getting it on sale is really the only smart way to get your money's worth, but if this had a demo then I wouldn't have bought it. A shame, there were some neat ideas here.

Fun. Was able to 100% it in 12 hours, but for the price that's a good amount of content.
