Helltower

I think that this game, to an average gamer, seems too difficult and too frustrating, but that is what I like most about it. This game is obviously retro, but not just in the graphics, animations and music. The TRUE retro aspect of this game is that, like many old games, you cannot change the difficulty, you don't get tutorials, you have to figure everything out for yourself and if you don't it's back to square one. I think this is the main thing that deters the gamers who play recent games because all the crutches you take for granted in modern games get swept from under you. I found the game very refreshing and I liked that I had to figure it out for myself. In the first 10 minutes, I didn't even know that you had to hit the chests and get better weapons. And I only realised you can jump more than once AFTER defeating Glutton (I was quite embarrassed tbh). Overall I think this game is a familiar face to players who enjoy a challenge every once in a while. Good job Developer!

There is nothing wrong with a challenge but this goes into frustrating very quickly.

This game is fiendishly difficult in places but fun to play and master. There are four levels, once you unlock a level you don't need to play through it again so you can play the later levels without fear of losing progress when you die. You will die. The levels are really interesting and varied with lots of different mechanics for the enemies and obstacles. The bosses are very cool and well designed. The graphics are retro but nicely detailed with a strong dungeon theme. It is also nicely polished with nice atmospheric music and sound effects that go well with the theme. If you like platform games and/or a bit of a challenge you should play this game.
